What kind of sad fucks still watch the Simpsons?
What kind of sad fucks still watch the Simpsons?
I think “Dalek” was my favourite of his run.
This is my new summer jam.
Agreed. That’s the thing that so many of us loved about the 9th. Whatever the cause behind the screen, on-screen he came across as *the* post-war doctor - damaged, gun-shy about his own power, and aching with loneliness.
It's got a lot of good gags, but I found the "Homer is a homophobe suddenly (and in this episode only)" thing to be a little forced. I did enjoy the call-back a few seasons later when he included it in his list of previous careers.
"You Only Move Twice" should have been the Simpsons Movie.
I mean that is certainly one opinion to have.
This should be where I mention that the much-lauded "Homer's Enemy" episode is actually a terrible, laugh-free mess.
"What the hell are you talking about?"
Hopefully Kinja moves in with two foxy ladies before the end of the fiscal year.
Homer's reaction to Data's "Gahhh Mr. Simpson, on the Itchy and Scratchy CD-ROM is there a way to get out of the dungeon without the wizard key?" makes me lose my shit every single God damn time.
Of course they necer had a plan. teh Cylons were just a people, made of metal, that wanted to know they had a purpose. So here comes some aliens, who are basically angels or gods, to say “Hey kill your makers!”, even though teh cylons could have just left teh conolnies behind and made of themselvese a ne3 path.
Not a quaint idea. A stupid idea. A suicidal idea. Literally. This was a group of people who did everything they could to survive and then suddenly said, “Screw this, let’s all go die of dysentery. That’ll be cool.”
I like medical technology and climate control. Thank you very much. I think I’d have been sitting next to Anders heading to the sun rather than going from space faring civilization to hunter-gatherer.
Not so much quaint as weirdly technophobic and essentially murdering any of the survivors who had need of any medicine.
I was really hoping the show was going to turn out to be set in the far future, and all the humans were going to turn out to be descendants of a post-Singularity Earth (hence the “colonies”). Instead we got Ancient Astronaut bullshit and Moore’s terror of Roombas.
It’s got the X-files problem without the benefit of standalone episodes to look back on with hindsight as the best parts.
I mean, they kind of had a plan:
Lisa! In this house we obey the Laws of Thermodynamics!
"Simpson Tide" is one of the episode I think I can't stand until I remember that it's justified by the glorious "surprise resurrection of the USSR" sequence.
