It may be awkward, but I’ll try to seek it out.

Sure. If I remember whatshisname cut the rope when he was starting to slide down the cliff while holding Simpson. He tried really hard to get a guy with a heinous leg injury down the mountain. Plus, his sort of irrational staying in camp a few more days made sure that Simpson was saved once he crawled down the…
Mmm, I think the movie in some ways showed him more manic (because Hirsch is a great actor), and showed more of the bad family situation. Some romance, I suppose. But plenty of the movie looked depressing on purpose. Jon Krakauer is great, but his book made sure the PURITY OF MAN IN WILDERNESS thing came across.
I…
Ah, shit, there’s a movie? I read that book five billion times.
I constantly reference the part in which Simpson describes how he couldn’t die with that stupid Boney M. song stuck in his head.
Great doc, great book.
I understand not glamorizing McCandless - and that last photo the real guy took should do the trick in countering the appeal, holy shit is he thin in it — but I admit I find him interesting.
The one where K2 wasn’t interesting enough, so something something nitro glycerin missing sister Chris O’Donnell?
I feel like “Dante’s Peak” deserves partial credit for actually noticing that shit comes out of volcanos beyond lava.
Now I’m remembering the demise of grandma, so never mind.
Bears are awesome in that most literal sense. They are scary and so obviously powerful. They’re one of my favorite animals, which is why I am scared of them and stay the fuck away. “Grizzly Man” was scary. Treadwell was so out of his mind.
If I recall correctly, Simpson doesn’t seem to blame him, though, right?
I can definitely see how you wouldn’t climb together after that, however.
I never thought about just keeping my glasses and going as Clark Kent. Tempting.
I want to be Max or Furiosa, and I could probably pull together a Capable, but my recent love of “Mad Max” (I missed it in theaters, I am dumb) plus much playing of Fallout 3 (yes, I am behind all the times) makes me feel like I should…
Am I wrong to like “Fright Night”?
I’ve never seen the original, so I guess I don’t know what I’m missing. I love ‘80s movies, but I also love David Tennant in leather pants. I must weigh this carefully.
Upon rewatching the cartoon, I am amazed at the deftness of characterization with Harley. She is almost immediately funny, cute, menacing, and tragic. It was never all fun evil with her. Not from the first moment you see how badly the Joker treats her.
Boy, am I not reading that.
Indy has to be a handsome, witty, tough, cynical, wounded puppy dog of an adventurer.
I almost think Tom Hardy could do it if I trusted his American accent. I think Nathan Fillion could do it, but it might feel redundant.
I’ve liked Chris Pratt since “Parks” (and even “Everwood”) but I really can’t see it. Maybe his…
I have a semi-irrational aversion to him, so yes. No to Cooper.
*whispers* Your mother is right.
Uh, they don’t understand? What’s not to understand?
Sure, I get the idea. But it still hints that law=morality. Law has caught up, but law still needs to do something. I think law has done quite enough here.
Yeah, there is something to that. But the women being sexy in Maxim (and even in Playboy sometimes) are not necessarily models whose job is to be sexy. In Maxim’s case they are often actresses. In theory, you could be an actress who is not sexy. In practice, this is rare. This is tedious.
Here’s a great photo of two…
