He was such a lovable rich snob. Both the grandparents were amazing actors, but I always had a soft spot for Edward Herrmann. And he had the best voice for war documentaries. :( 2015 was a bad year for lovable ladies and gents.

1) I’m sad if they made John Boyega switch his accent. Unless you’re Hugh Laurie, I can see the struggle as you try not to slip up. It drags down even good actors.

That’s kind of mean of your wife.

Don’t forget country! Yeah, we needed Scottish immigrants, but black people played a huge part in its early history as well. Not just because the banjo is from Africa!

My mom gave me an Anne Perry book not knowing about the author’s background. I never read it, but sometimes I stare at it nervously.

The idea that we had a war on drugs while a single piece of rape evidence sat on a shelf somewhere. It’s sick.

Honestly, they’re both kind of too far on the other side of things. North is too voice actory/theatrical sometimes. Dinklage is too dry and understated sometimes. They both sounded better to me during different readings.

No way, he’s great in “The Station Agent.”

I constantly almost buy a Modcloth dress, and then don’t. In all the examples, the dresses look too short and vaguely cheap. And I don’t want that if I’m spending 50-100 bucks. Some great designs, though, so they’re endlessly tempting.

Yeah, that response makes me like Ed Sheeran more. And the picture of him and Taylor Swift on the Fourth of July — the caption being something about Ed “not letting it go” — endears them both.

I didn’t even know we were supposed to hate gingers until “South Park” told me. And I’ve read “Anne of Green Gables.”

Listen, I am done talking to you because you are freaking me out. I insulted your particular stance on one particular policy issue. I apologize for the language I used. The proportionate response to me would have been to call me an asshole and call it a day. Your tirade was legitimately disturbing, because it seemed

I would be perfectly willing to grant that people have bad experiences with any company - Uber included — if there weren't these batshit vendettas against competition for what is in some places a damned cartel.

That little girl goes amazingly well with the Old Crow Medicine Show song I am currently rocking through the headphones. *is mesmerized*

I can't wait to tell everyone that my first internet rape threat was on Jezebel. Insert "well, that escalated quickly" gif here. Let's try again "Thanks for being an authoritarian lunatic about transportation, then." About one particular policy issue. And you think that that your comment is a reasonable response to

Do you think Buzzfeed, Jezebel, or Valleywag would want to contact you and rally on your behalf? Somehow I doubt it.

My friends and I waited 90 minutes in vain for a cab. We're white girls, we were calling from one of the colleges.

I suspect people in black neighborhoods don't bother calling. That's what jitneys are for.

Thanks for being an authoritarian lunatic about transportation, then.

I am not trying to insult you personally, but you are literally arguing for few options for people and celebrating in the fact that authorities are cracking down on transportation.

I've been living outside the city for the past few years, but I am definitely going to use them one of these days!

I drove around with a really cool Pittsburgh jitney driver once for an article. If he's the type of driver that's out there, that's awesome.

I hope you end up in a city with no taxis, or a God-awful, "fuck you, unless you're taking a 60 dollar cab ride to the airport" company (hi, Pittsburgh). I truly do. Then you might realize that taxis are a fucking monopoly all over the country.

Have you seen "tech" blog Valleywag and their screeds against Uber? They feel very luddite.

I haven't yet had a chance to use Uber, but I have tried to get a cab in Pittsburgh, AND done stories about shameful taxi cab cartels. They need to be broken up, and Uber and Lyft are a good thing.

Surge pricing looks bizarre
