The Netflix history roasts make Drunk History look like a prestige HBO series. I’m glad it’s back!

The fact that Despair is depicted as a fat, naked, self-mutilating woman isn’t the problem if you’ve got smart writers, a good (actually fat, not a fat-suited) actress, and excellent directors who grok the story and the symbolism. The problem is Goyer’s done nothing to make me think he could understand why she’s

This was me in high school: I hung with the goths (and liked the music), but I could not maintain that constant level of aesthetic dedication in my clothing.

I’ve only found one brand/style that didn’t make give me an all-day wedgie, but what bugged me the most when I dabbled with them was the lack of crotch coverage. I’m here for the day when we can all just be like, “Wear whatever underwear you want!” and no one will even consider judging folks’ choices.

No beef and barley? I know we’re in winter, but it’s the perfect winter soup. (Also sad no tom yum, pho, or ramen.)

Music of my youth PLUS the city of my youth --> rolling in the deep nostalgia

I’ve tried to get into it a few times and it just hasn’t stuck which surprises me because I love Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara. (I also love that they’ve been work buddies for how many decades now and still apparently enjoy working together.)

I haven’t been able to bring myself to watch the post-Quentin series yet because I love her so much. Does it keep its quality?

Could they have found any model with name recognition less interesting or compelling than Karlie Kloss?

“What was that?”

Very interested to hear the rest of this album after that track. It straddles all kinds of stuff which always makes me want to hear more. Also: that’s a hell of a tour schedule!

Whyyyyy isn’t this on pretty much any other streaming service? I love Paula Pell, but not enough to support 1) another service 2) particularly one funded by Meg Whitman.

For a while, I was a road warrior in the US. I’m so grateful to No Reservations and Parts Unknown because I feel like the way Tony wrote these things, what they chose to highlight, teaches you how to really experience a place, any place, and its people and cuisine, even when you’re bone tired and dumb from being on

I agree with the Fresno : Texas comparisons below and would like to submit Visalia as Florida in this analogy.

I love how the filmmakers just let JW Bobbit prattle on and on, digging himself deeper and deeper and letting his mask slip more and more until the end to the point that any rational viewer can’t see him as anything but a manipulative, lying, violent asshole.

It’s funny how many of the online news stories about this are using pictures of crocheting instead of knitting.

Is this what the yoots these days refer to as “a mood”? Because this feels like a fuckin’ awesome mood.

I was about to post about how much I hated that shit in SF and then finished reading your comment. Having spent a significant amount of time in Midtown for work since (not far from but not in Times Square), I do think the SF tourists are much worse about this, possibly because enough New Yorkers will say something or

They could really lean into it and bring back Fred Willard as Pierce for flashbacks.

Being gay is not a choice: it’s an inherent characteristic. Supporting an administration that has created actual goddamned concentration camps and hiring actual white supremacists is a choice.
