What Japanese games need is to start being komakai again (thanks for the new word Bashcraft).
"3D, on the other hand, is utterly and entirely a gimmick. The depth slider is proof of that. The fact that you can play—and completely experience—any 3DS game with the 3D functionality turned completely off is proof that it's a vestigial, unnecessary part of the system."
I could have sworn I already downloaded this artwork from the E3 2012 press site as well.
The trick to stereoscopic lens-free 3D is that, by definition, it's widescreen combined with depth perspective. If my calculations are right, with 3D on at full the 3DS XL should display a horizontal ratio .84" wider than the Vita in-person.
This corrects the only things I don't like about the original 3DS: the Oreo design, the 3 interface buttons, and the way the glossy topside meets the 3D screen like one big giant sheet of glass.
The "3D" signal is so tiny its unnoticeable when playing and only serves to come in handy when you want to know if its really off. I like the boxy corners actually. And your downloadable games are tried to an account. It's called your Club Nintendo account and it goes as far back as the Wii, with the ability to…
PS1 was the weakest system its gen. Admittedly, the N64 came out a full two years later, but that notwithstanding, it was still incredibly weak for its time with respect to the 3DO. PS2 was also half, if not up to 1.5 times weaker than the GCN and Xbox. Wii is the weakest console this gen to an even greater degree.
They screwed up the artstyle on the PS3 version. They did something terrible to the models and special effects to make them pop out more, and it looks like they added new textures to make it look less flat if you look closely. The washed out antique Japanese painting look is gone.
I hope Capcom releases it in HD on the Wii U's Virtual Console like this.
"I can't accept there's too much violence, when now there's more of everything."
And so I would argue that the gaming community actually is unable to differentiate between a phenomenon and something that is 'ho-hum.'
"The twitter user who initially sent Sakurai his tweet has since deleted his own account."
I'm not going to get into pixel density, because in the end I don't think it matters.
I view it as them future-proofing the life cycles of their products while advertantly outclassing the competition in the long run through technical finesse. Two birds. One stone.
Wow, what a humbling contrast of perspective this was.
I hate to go against the stream on this one, but the original looks better in my opinion. They got rid of the whole Japanese Painting aesthetic by modifying the art-style.
Good points all around. And I can't help but share your sentiments on some, though I love both games the same.
Best of Show: Project P-100
I'd rather have a Wii U HD port with the touchpad controls like Okamiden.
