Spoiler: People are stupid.

Or they'll blame Democrats for it.

I got this Dear Leader horseshit in the mail yesterday, it’s pathetic.

It’s absolutely insane how great an idea this is.

It’s called conversation, works better with words than gifs.

I got it free with my GPU (along with Wolfenstein Youngblood, barf). I would have regretted paying a full $60 for it but would have been satisfied at $20 or so. I don't think it's bad, I'm pretty much exactly with you. It has been hyped as an "experience" and I just don't see it that way. It's an X-Files Metroidvania.

(I solemnly swear that this isn’t a brag, just providing context for my comments.)

It’s by no means bad, I have been enjoying it. But it got GOTY consideration than I just don't think was warranted. It's something like a 7/10, and I doubt it'll get a replay from me.

At this point I’m just dismissing him as trolling. He’s trying to argue that inflicting pain is not torture, only inflicting “excruciating” pain is. It’s a remarkably dumb argument and a waste of all of our time.

“Excruciating” is entirely subjective. And are you arguing that a taser, burning, choking and shooting someone in the leg don’t qualify?

Okay then, tell me what you like about it. I gave specific reasons.

You just contradicted what I said with nearly verbatim what I said. Inflicting pain to obtain information is torture.

I’m playing on just about as high-end PC rig as possible and it looks...decent and not amazing. They overdid the film grain and darkness, which I know contributes to the vibe but also tends to look like a muddled mess.

Meh. This game is just meh. The boss battles lean far more to “cheap” than “challenging.” It’s hard to see things and there are way too many I’m-dead-what-just-happened moments.

Probably the same reason why celebrities with no symptoms were receiving COVID-19 tests two weeks ago when hospitalized people couldn't.

Literally every “interrogation” scene above involves the use of violence to obtain information, which by definition is torture.

Here are some of the unique results I’ve found in YouTube. I’m sure there’s more context than the clips alone, but damn there’s a lot of torture:

Now playing

Go to YouTube and search for “24 Jack tortures” or “24 Jack interrogates” and get back to me.

I somehow suspect that this version won’t use brutal torture as a lame crutch for solving every mystery.

It seems like in Japan you have to focus on customs and nuance even more than the actual verbal message. Which seems like a mentally exhausting way to communicate.
