Certainly reminds me of my WoW days. Wife, kids, parents, doesn't matter, there's always someone who will interrupt you, til you grow up and realize games that can't be paused and take 4+ hours of straight attention are kind of not feasible for an adult.

It's really tragic, yes. Such a great world deserved a better game. But it's not a 'bad' game. Just...a disappointing use of great potential.

I dunno. It was standard and dull, gameplay wise, but the atmosphere and music and protagonist were all fantastic. It was almost worth playing just for the amazing art and world they built. If they get a sequel, I hope somebody makes them do something more interesting with it.

The doldrums so far don't seem to be bad this summer, not like the hell of 2011. Been managing to keep occupied with the hugely beefy Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep. It's really well done and a lot of content. Also that Van Helsing Diablo clone, which turns out to be pretty good and surprisingly funny The Leisure

I can't wait to play it, but it's a bit depressing to think it'll only probably be like two hours long.

I can definitely identify with the feeling of clinging to a bad game because you loved it's vibe, atmos, setting, whatever, that you can't find elsewhere. Magna Cum Laude was an awful game, but something about its animal house/college dorm life vibe reminded me of the dorms that I miss, and the humor was great even if

I just bought the remake and played it for a bit, it looks good, plays with the same old Sierra interface from the VGA days. Also it asks you a set of questions just like the original EGA LSL game.

the dark quickening story was awesome. Evil Duncan for the win.

This show seemed so cool in 1994. What the hell happened? Man, some tv just ages so incredibly badly. this is as embarassing as Starsky and Hutch or Xena or any other atrociously badly aged tv.

I have so many fond memories of me and a friend, just barely into puberty, bugging his dad to answer the silly questions that prove you're an adult, and us trying to figure out, in game, how to get laid. Hilariously innocent by modern standards. Can't wait to play the remake.

Alpha Protocol was a mess that could've been a brilliant game, but it really did have some ideas that hadn't been tried before. It's worth playing if only to see those ideas at play, in the rare occasion that the game gels.

I feel no sympathy for PUAs or anyone foolish enough to try their techniques, but I do pity anyone who can't fix their lives because of who they are. Like me :p

Picking someone up and putting 'em on your lap without their permission's grounds for arrest round where I live...yikes. That's just not right. Who just lifts someone and plops them down like that?

hee hee. you can always count on Francis. You rule, Francis!

aww, dammit. Really wanted it this month not next. Not much else for PC worth playing this month.

Is it worth pointing out that one's father can be a good man and still fail, that he can be weak and ill-equipped to handle the world for himself let alone you, can be there always and by no means a deadbeat, and that you can still end up miserable and alone and broken even if your parents were good people who tried

I was excited, yes, but not that excited. THAT level of excitement, I think, is reserved for teenagers. Someone please tell me this dude was only, like, 16-20. This level of excitement, you can't even feel it after 30...I hope. If I had that level of excitement at this point in life I think I'd have a coronary.

Ugh, Trek has done this multiple times. Not just the Borg, but the fantastically terrifying Species 8472 as well.

This man is our hero. He's the hero gaming deserves..and wants.

SERIOUSLY. It has killed me keeping quiet this long among people I know who have not read the books. I'm so glad this one's finally out of the bag.
