puts on ACNH.
This was a really long-winded way of saying “I don’t like Elon Musk and I don’t want him to be promoted in any way.” Musk is famous, SNL relies on celebrity appearances, therefore they decided to work with him. It doesn’t really go much deeper than that. Musk isn’t an actor and has no charisma so I’m sure the show…
“It’s the same bizarre, worshipful instinct that leads Barstool Sports readers to swarm perceived haters on Twitter, inspires Joe Rogan listeners to treat the word of a sitcom second-stringer as gospel, or goads millions of people to pledge their allegiance to Trump, rather than a coherent, fixed political platform.”
Yeah! screw Kaplan for growing as a person and becoming more mature over 19 years! I certainly never said or did anything dumb when I was 29 and behind the shield of internet anonymity.
Damn, that’s hilarious.
Thanks, but I already got the perfect Earthshatter a few years back:
As janky as it was, I loved Dark Void, and the music by Bear McCreary? Absolutely amazing! <3
I really wish we got more outlandish games like those these days!
I’m generally on the “anti-anti-woke” side when these sorts of disagreements pop up around here, but even I found the “well this is obviously the worst thing ever, no further context necessary” tone of this article off-putting. I think the root of the issue—emphasis on think; I’m a white dude and I’m not all that…
That is a totally valid opinion and conclusion for you to have about this. Some people can’t consume art made by people they don’t like, and some people can compartmentalize and continue to enjoy it. Both are decisions you have the freedom to make. You make yours, others here will make there’s.
Think about it for just a few seconds and you can come up with any number of reasons why he limits himself in this space. Heck, he might actually have cheated on his wife before and he has set up extremely stringent boundaries as a part of repairing their relationship, which would obviously lead him to fumble a bit on…
You know reading what he says in that NYT piece...he comes off as reasonable? He’s clearly a dude trying to deal with his celebrity and also keenly aware that his status exists outside of himself. He knows he’s not “just a person—” he’s a product. I guess that comes off as refreshing especially after hearing too many…
Man I’ve said this before but y’all really gotta lay off the relationship stuff with his wife. There are an abundance of intimately personal and valid reasons for them to hold this position as a couple, and he’s always sent raids and other stuff to female streamers, it’s clearly not coming from a position of bias. You…
You say that as if telling his fans "Stop it" would end it right then and there. If anything, that would just invite more harassment on both sides.
So, as someone who saw Fortnite become a thing among his students even before Ninja hit it big, I feel safe in saying that he had/got such a huge following because:
You realize tons of Streamers actively do participate and try to speak to their fans about these issues, never mind how fans in fandom also try to have conversations about these things every single time shit like this happens, right?
I mean, all things considered, he’s not exactly wrong about this:
Having fell in love with Fellowship when it was released (and, having started work at a cinema, getting to see it and The Two Towers many times each), I can’t remember being more excited for a film than this one – or having a more emotional reaction to one. From “I can’t carry it for you” onwards I seemed to remember…
Weird that you got that particular take from a quote by a mom worried her son isn’t developing the tools to deal with their emotions.
In some defense, you’re the one jumping to that conclusion. Nothing in the quote indicates the wife is the source of that stress. Maybe the Mom is hoping for grandkids and would rather her son choose ways to relieve that stress that involve said wife... and conceivably results in grandkids.
