Japanese servers are not having any issues, because they are ghost towns compared to the NA/EU servers. At one point everyone who was locked out decided to start making characters on the same japanese server and it started failing fairly quickly

That's what hurts the most. The game is good, really good, but the shit show that has been early access is souring a lot of people to it

better than Guild Wars 2?

There's a lot of people out there that want to pay for content, but they don't let us. As long as content owners continue to lock down content on obsolete models, piracy remains a strong choice.

That is most certainly a satire site... and it is even more obvious than The Onion... how the hell did this catch on to real news?

It sounds tome that they are saying that you can mash and still win, but if you can get the timings right you do better

But honestly, I don't know what to believe from Microsoft anymore.

The problem in general is that now people are not content to just not read/watch/listen to media that offends them for whatever reason. Now they feel the need to go on the internet and circlejerk about it.

Well it already has one advantage: friends. All my friends are on Xbox, none of them are PC gamers. Combined with the "family" sharing, it would've been enough to push me over the edge

I've never heard anything of the sort. Quite the opposite, i keep hearing PC players who want more and better controller and support, and more initiatives like Steam Big Picture, and I keep hearing console players who want a Steam-like model for digital distribution

Yup. i'd rather spend time gaming than figuring out where the hell i left the disc for my game, or trying to fix that one little scratch that keeps making it crash

Sure. I don't mind an online check, as i'm always online, and if in exchange for licensing i can get a shared library with 10 friends and games that don't require a fragile, losable disc to work, i don't mind it either.

Exactly. Console players need to get ready for another 10 years of the same. I was thinking of making the X1 my first console. Now i think i'll stick to PC

This is what i've been saying... Microsoft was trying to push the industry forward, and now we're stuck with the Xbox 360-2.

I fully agree. The circlejerk costed us the possibility to move the consoles commerical model forward. The X1 was a big gamble, but sadly MS did not have the nuts to withsand the shitstorm from the vocal minority.

I would play the sit out of an Alice Wake like the one you're describing

who plays game for fun anyway?

That's pretty much exactly it.

I only see two ways this can end: either Sony will add all the same DRM as Microsoft, or it will slowly but surely lose third party support. Publishers want to kill the used games market, and they are already rewarding Microsoft for helping them do that (for example, with the Titanfall exclusive)

If you think publishers are going to let Sony forego DRM and measures to curn the used game market, you are delirious. This are things that the publishers are pushing for, and Sony is either going to have to bend to their will, or go the way of Nintendo and slowly lose third party support until they become irrelevant.
