Honestly, high-end cards are pretty much overkill this days... there are very few, if any, games that can put a beast like this through it's paces...

In the Gizmodo article it said the projetile is shaped like that to keep it from going to far and ruining someone's day while it is being tested. If/when the gun is deployed, it will use more aerodynamic projetciles.

i would assume that the cost per round is a lot less than a conventional gun, so over a large enough number of shots fired it would be cheaper.

that's kinda the point... the camera itself does the post processing, using the information from 7 pixels to create a single better looking pixel in the final 5 or 8 mpix photo

This article is as much of an oversimplification as the megapixel war. The idea behind the 41mpix sensor is similar to the Multisampling Antialiasing that makes games on PC look so much better than on consoles.

gaming needs Apple like the average person needs cancer...

actually it IS 41 mpix... but the camera basically does the same thing games do when you enable anti aliasing... it combines the many tiny pixels to a lower resolution in order to improve sharpness
