Name a single wireless charging device that doesn't require a cable from the outlet to the charging plate, which must be touching the device to function. Also, it has to be available to the masses, so prototypes in labs don't count.

Because that's how all wireless chargers work, in essence? Cable from outlet to plate, plate has to touch device. It's defining the technology behind it, not the way it looks to you.

It's no different than any other wireless charger. They all have a cable going from the outlet to the plate, and the plate has to be touching the device to charge. This one is just more inconvenient to use than the others.

They're talking about defining one standard that everyone conforms to, not making it so that wireless charging is useable.

Yeah, I would've bought an iPhone if it had the wireless charging build in, but now that I know it doesn't have it, I'll probably move back to WinMo.

No, it's wireless; inductive works differently. This uses wireless tech, but uses a magnet to hold the charging plate in place.

There's no copper contact. The thing could be levitating a bit off of the back of the watch and still function.

He's talking about the multiple standards out there. Hopefully this will create one winner that kills all the others off.

Ehhh, maybe it was the Lumia, but when I had a 920, it was *noticeably* slower than being plugged in. Granted, it was still fast enough that I could plop it down when I went to bed and have a full charge by morning, and it was fast enough to keep my battery pretty much at full while using it all day and setting it

"APPLE IWATCH INCLUDES WIRELESS CHARGING (that only works when you magnetically connect a wire to the watch)"

If they have a wireless charger, I'm in. If they don't, I'll probably just go back to WinMo. I enjoyed 'em pretty damn well back when I had my Lumia 920.

You're an idiot.

"The new iPhone weighs just 2 milligrams less, which is fantastic because the old one was so heavy; I felt like I was lifting weights!"

If you're not a fanboy, then he's not talking about you, so I don't know why you felt the need to personally defend yourself.

"taking the lead" - you mean catching up to literally every other manufacturer out there?

Eh, I went on a date with someone. She didn't look anything like her profile picture (as in, it was a picture of a different person). I told her I wasn't interested in a relationship that started off based on a pretty huge lie and left before the date started, but I could see how some people wouldn't be interested in

Who said anything about extinct vertebrates? Every vertebrate out there spreads disease. This is how diseases work. They rely on other organisms to spread them around.

Name one vertebrate that doesn't, and humans don't count - we're one of the worst offenders.

"Underfunded" is the key term here, apparently.

"smart, safe thing to do"
