I just want to say, I think it's funny that this chart was created by someone other than the author of the post.
Yeah, that might not be such a good idea.
That's a bit of hyperbole. The Germans would still have needed to take the real estate. While Britain's army was usually merely mediocre (and sometimes worse) the Royal Navy was more than competent and could have easily interdicted any invasion attempt's supplies (if not the invasion itself). Whatever men the Germans…
If you ever get the chance, I highly recommend the National World War II Museum in New Orleans. I spent an entire day there, from open to close and I actually had to really rush at the end because they were kicking us out. There's lots of cool stuff about the plans for the invasion of Japan that never happened.
11) The allies fail to successfully establish a beach head on Normandy. The D-day invasion was a high-risk strategy, which could have very easily turned into a fiasco.
Here's the thing, though: Even if Boeheim's assessment is correct, he shouldn't be saying that shit out loud on TV. He owes more to Tyler Ennis than Ennis does to him, and if he were a good dude he would try to help the kid out by being as complimentary as possible when asked questions like this. Doing a solid for a…
And soldiers don't go to boot camp, by the way. (I swear, if someone points out the Army capitalizes the word "soldier" I will bang my head against the wall. Capitalizing the word "soldier" and "families" was one of the more annoying parts of reading any piece of Army 'literature'.)
That's me in eastern Afghanistan, with our French military partners. (Not wearing my rank, as usual. And no "cover" - hat - either.)
The Mig29's in Syria inventory are the "ghetto" versions the USSR used to give out.
And that's how you know you've succeeded in life. Nothing but good people showing up to see you off to the beyond who cared about you and celebrating the fact that they knew you. You don't need fame, or fortune, just people who'll say: "That guy was a great guy.". That's all I want in life, to help people have fun and…
Back in the late 70's, when I was a very young 22 year old Naval Aviator, we had just departed from Sicily in our P3C Orion for an Antisubmarine patrol of the Mediterranean Sea North of Libya and to also take a radar sweep of the Gulf of Hammamet on return to base. It was about midnight and we had just finished our…
How did they get Lana Kane to do this ad? ISIS must be hurting for cash again.
You've apparently never flown out of Midway if you think ORD is the worst option in Chicago.
For some clarification, I'm the owner of the car and Chris rented a co-drive from me. The wheel and lugs are all oem, and were torqued properly. In an earlier run, while I was driving, we caught a rut and the wheel bent some at the hub, but was not interfering with the brakes, so we went with it. That may have been a…
We're working on that. That'll be its own post.
if it stops gawker from changing the kinja layout again, i'm all for it.
We're working on a new Kinja feature where I come to people's houses, hold their hands, and explain the story to them very, very slowly.
