The problem with introducing Cyclops, Storm, Jean, etc. is most of them either don't exist yet or are toddlers. Even if let's say they skip 10 years from the last film- they will still be only pre-teens.

I don't think the new X-Men film will be awesome at all. Why? They don't have all the ingredients to make "Days of Future Past" work. Half the characters don't exist yet, and none of the X-men films have delivered the kind of depth required for a story like that.
