It’s incredibly sad that this is now the case...
Nice straw man...
Just because shit happens at your job and you get annoyed doesn’t give you the right to be actively rude and malicious to your customers. If I had to stay late and then proceeded to effectively tell a customer to go fuck themselves I would be fired.
Although I’d love to have an income, I’d much rather have my self respect.
Reminds me of the Nissan commercial they have for their ProPilot assist. The lady driving the Nissan Rogue thinks she’s so bad ass despite needing the lane keep assist to drive in a pack of cars...
Not to mention that a lot of industry is off-highway. For example, my dad drives logging truck. Good luck getting an autonomous truck to go up those bush roads with the weight he’s packing. Would have a truck in the ditch daily.
I’m not because if you give someone a product that will drive for them fine only 60% of the time it’s going to cause problems. People are stupid. If the road conditions suddenly change and the car hands control back to the driver who, let’s face it, won’t be paying attention then crashes are going to happen. Unless we…
Not all roads are scrapped down to pavement after a snowfall. There’s plenty of side roads and residential streets that stay at least partially snow covered until the spring thaw. I know this because I drove on them all winter where I live.
See my other reply about snow being on the pavement and the car having no idea where the lanes are.
Great, the sensors are clear. Still not going to help it stay in the lane when you can’t see the surface of the road because it’s covered in snow.
I was able to do that with my 92 F-150 too! Made for a neat trick with my friends lol.
I know mine. You use it to pay for parking in most lots in the city where I live.
I don’t know anywhere that snows 1/2 the year
Same with Canada, where I live. We’ve actually had winters before where first snow fall happened mid October and it didn’t all melt away until mid April. Good luck getting a self-driving car to deal with that.
you won’t be able to keep an autonomous vehicle happy in the snow. Luckily, how many days is that? 10? 30? 50?
Gov contracts for high end firmware, still have the issues.
My main problem with autonomous cars is they all seem to be designed and tested on dry, bare roads in places like Arizona. What about Canada? We have snow on the road for 4 - 5 months of the year, every year. How are self-driving cars going to figure out where the lanes are when you can’t see the surface of the road?
There has never been a piece of software that is 100% bug free
Plus a lot of locks these days have that easy rekey system. You put in the existing key and the special tool, turn it one way, take out and put in the key you want to use, turn it another way and violá, your lock is rekeyed.
