In Canada, where it can easily be 200 miles between towns, that range is pathetic. Also, electric vehicles are well beyond the ability of most people to purchase.

I would love it. Befriending the neighbour and having him help me with oil changes would be a lot cheaper than what I currently pay.

I don’t even try to buy something with a $50 without asking because a lot of places just don’t take them.

Diesel takes a lot to burn. It needs to be compressed and aerosolized. You’ve obviously never spend much time around it. You can toss a lit match into a bucket of diesel and it’ll put it out.

He who forgets history is doomed to repeat it. Blindly plowing into the future isn’t a good plan either.

Your “out of the box” thinking would kill the industry. Margins in trucking are slim enough as it is and you want every company to have extra trailers all around North America? That’s insane.

On my dad’s rigs, if he fills both tanks to capacity, can get almost 1,500 miles.

Example of hydrogen gas safety issues:

It seems to me that these people commenting here know nothing about the trucking industry. My dad has been a trucker since well before I was born so I’ve gotten to live it growing up. Most of these people’s ideas and blatantly stupid.

Great solution until you need to haul something that’s an odd size or shape.

Containers don’t work for a lot of cargo due to it’s size and/or shape.

or transfer the entire cargo from a depleted trailer to a fresh one.

The early-stage prototype Toyota’s got here can do 200 miles before needing a fill-up

And the sound of a .50 caliber round hitting the ground wouldn’t be able to be heard either then, eh? Sounds to me like you’re trying really hard to justify your claim.

So it’s the sound that tells you you’re being shot at, eh? The big cloud of dust kicked up 10 feet away isn’t a give away at all?

When you’re sniping you don’t get multiple shots. If the first one misses, your target knows to get the hell out of dodge.

When you’re done, close your eyes, pull out your hands, and back out of the water.

Dog fights don’t matter anymore.

I think most people’s biggest criticisms stem from the asinine concept of developing a new system and deploying it at the same time. They shouldn’t be starting production on a plane that hasn’t completed testing.

How is it superior? It’s obviously not superior in a dog fight if the F-16C can best it.
