The problem with the Chicago example is while the city has really strict gun control laws, literally everywhere around it doesn’t. Since they can’t put up check points at every entrance into the city and search everyone coming and going then guns will continue to flow in.

I just got a mental image of someone with a rifle down their pants walking all stiff legged going “nothing to see here” XD

It’s also a cultural thing. In the US, gun ownership is a right. Everyone feels entitled to own a gun and “shoot em up some bad guys.” In Canada, gun ownership is a privilege. Here, to get a gun you have to take a course and pass a test proving you understand safe and responsible gun ownership to get a firearms

Why not force them to grow their own food, or at least some of it? I’m sure there’s some fields they could farm, with all hand tools of course - don’t want to make this easy on them.

At the very least I say put them to work. Why should tax payers pay to feed them? Have them grow their own food. Give them all hand tools and a few fields and let them work their asses off, properly supervised by armed guards, of course.

That is one thing you have to admit. The Soviets knew how to do criminal punishment right.

When it comes to punishment, I like this quote by Cortez in the movie The Road to El Dorado. “You will be flogged. And when we put into Cuba for supplies, God willing you will be flogged some more.”

Three words dude, forced labour camps. Let’s get some cheap labour out of these fuckers before we put them in the ground.

So we should place equal value on the lives of heartless murderers as we do hard working, upstanding members of society? That’s bullshit and you know it. As soon as these thugs pulled the trigger they sealed their fate. They deserve whatever punishment they get, and more.

Let’s bring back gulags.

That fate sounds too good for the likes of them.

Don’t call it a tax.

We need to invent some sort of laser defense system that automatically targets birds that are getting too close to the plane and vaporizes them before they become a problem! Or maybe I should stop watching so much science fiction...

As always, the simplest solution is almost always the best one.

As far as aircraft go that’s one hell of a good paint job. Must have cost them a fortune.

That sounds to me like it would set a dangerous precedent for any delusional despot that comes into power.

The two are not mutual exclusive, you know. It’s quite possible to have a car payment and put funds into savings. You act like you can only do one or the other.

And what if the sky falls? What if Russia invades? What if Santa Claus isn’t real? You can’t live your life planning for what ifs. If you’re planning on financing a car anyway and they offer you 0% then it makes financial sense to take advantage of that.

When my mother bought her current car back in ‘99 she financed it totally because the Ford dealership offered her 60 months at 0%. At that point, why not finance?

Honestly, Nintendo hasn’t released a good console since the GameCube, and even that had some flaws (half sized discs, wtf?)
