I’ve used these made easy knife sharpeners before and they’re shit. Just learn how to sharpen your knives with a wet stone. You’ll get much better results.

Most jobs in general suck whether they’re union or not. It’s the nature of the beast when one must work to live, especially if they don’t enjoy what they do.

People only have to look at the mid to late 1800's to see what life with no unions is like.

Just because you’re a good employer doesn’t mean everyone else is. Typically, large corporations shit on workers because they can get away with it. That is why people need unions.

It’s a difference in attitudes. In Europe, employees are seen as people and treated properly. In the US, employees are a resource to be used and replaced as needed. American employees aren’t seen as people but numbers on a spreadsheet.

They hit Ctrl+Alt+Del and rebooted the comm system. Why oh why did Boeing choose to use Windows Vista in their planes?!

I’ve always wondered about the shooting down aspect. Doesn’t blowing a plane out of the sky cause the same problem of it potentially causing a lot of damage and loss of life on the ground? Or are they just hoping that it crashes someplace where there’s no people?

You’re bang on there. Speed cameras are a cash grab. If they actually wanted to deter dangerous driving they would have police be out and more visible instead of hiding cameras on street corners.

You try finding something as common as a grey Honda Civic in a city that has over a million cars in it.

Ah, the old if you’re not with us you’re against us mentality.

So because a lot of people took part it must be legal? Need I point you at the spat of riots that have occurred recently in the US?

A case could be made that Russia doesn’t have to abide by the 1987 treaty as, technically, the treaty was signed by a different country. When the Soviet Union collapsed, technically speaking, that country and government ceased to exist. Technically, the Russian Federation isn’t the same thing as the Union of Soviet

I don’t really think a bunch of neighbors would tear apart his property unless they were within their rights

That’s all speculation on your part. Unless there’s proof of an agreement or bylaw then you can’t assume that the plane owner was in the wrong. Innocent until proven guilty.

Ideally, nobody should have nuclear weapons but since that’s not going to happen then they should be restricted to countries that have some semblance of checks on the power to wield them. North Korea has no such checks and balances. Kim could drop a nuke on a whim if he wished.

The article never states whether or not he lives in an HOA community. If he doesn’t then the neighbours have no right to dictate what he can and can’t do.

You’d hate my parents house. Every year my dad puts up around 80,000 lights. It’s very nicely done, though. He’s locally famous where he lives. The senior homes come by every year with their buses to look at the lights.

Constitutional monarchies are not a despotic dictatorship, they are a democracy. I should know, I live in one.

I think you’re missing the point. The US and its allies are all democratic governments that don’t actively engage in human rights abuses on their citizens. A country, in this day and age, loses its right to develop whatever weapons they want when they have a record of abusing their people and are a despotic

Why can’t the US send in covert CIA agents to take down the North Korean government? They’ve certainly done it with other countries in the past.
