I'll leave this here for you, it's a good introduction to her. Rosalina is probably one of the most fleshed out characters with a clearly defined personality in the Mario universe (except maybe the Donkey Kong Country series characters, Rare did a good job of giving them personalities).

She is like Mario's version of Le Petit Prince, tear-jerking backstory included. If you do not know her it means you haven't played Super Mario Galaxy which you should correct ASAP
