@Idaan: Exactly my thoughts.

Some, at least, might want to keep working, anyway, because they know that what they don't do on furlough will still need to be done when this current bought of madness passes.

The cost of [...] wars cripples the Fed economy, turns the organization into a bankrupt militaristic parody of itself.

This is precisely my point, the issues that you can cite I do not dispute; whatever they make is not going to be an ideal substitute for human breast milk. However, the specific assertions relate to the way in which this milk will be used and whether it may be a viable substitute for formula.

I disagree with all of it because you don't cite anything, and I doubt you are a biochemist or some other expert in the manufacture of infant dietary products.

Do you? You're going to need to be less cryptic.

Honestly, I had not considered the alternative of simply replacing cow milk with other processed dairy substitutes. Of course, these would require growing more soy (which may be a neutral proposition since less soy and other grains would need to go to cows), building more soy processing plants, and finding additional

Why is it cruel, and how do you know it's unhealthy? In particular, how is this any worse than a modern dairy farm? Are you saying that all mainstream commercial dairy farming is cruel and unhealthy?

I agree, it would be tightly regulated for cross-breeding reasons as you state. This is probably in the interest of basically every economic interest, anyway, since cow milk is probably better for calves, as you say, than cow-human hybrid milk. (The researchers seem to be saying the opposite, but I wonder if this

@raincoatedlover: Yes, because formula is not itself heavily processed cow milk and "natural" breast milk is not full of the food additives in the mother's diet.

@basiorana: This milk has no benefits over formula, AND needs to be refrigerated.

@basiorana: So basically it's more expensive, shittier formula

I think it's equally plausible that Gawker just thinks breasts are icky.

Other than the "gross" tag directly above it, yes?

@ctrl.alt.delightful: I guess "genetically modifying cows to feed more hungry babies" would not get as many clicks.

Yeah, yeah. I'm a sucker for Carl Sagan. There must be some connection directly to my amygdala formed early in my childhood from Cosmos.

It succeeded.

I thought there was a disturbing lack of personal grooming/bathing. But then I thought back to my adolescent years... is it a stereotype if it's true?

The zigzag pattern at the top of the artifact are regular while the ones at the bottom are irregular. Maybe they represent different things.

@whiskyguy: The people have spoken: They want their 10pm (9 eastern) crime mysteries, but they *really* don't want to think too hard about them.
