Have you ever wondered why you don’t have any friends?

You’ve missed the problem.  It’s not that “generative AI and learning algorithms” are inherently bad; it’s that all of the AI art programs people are using were created by using thousands of images without their creators’ consent.  It is one of the biggest cases of copyright infringement ever committed.  You’ve just

So people should just stop complaining about it?

This guy’s rolling up on all the AI articles, glossing over the human element (e.g. the theft that fuels the current iteration of AI) to extol the wonders of AI. Like those who have come before him in other areas throughout history, it always boils down to: “Shut up about empathy, give me my toy.”

Do AI art without stealing existing art.

The amount of “prompt engineers” (kid you not, that’s what they’re calling themselves) showing up now, claiming to be legitimate, is laughable at best, soul-sucking at worst.

Do AI art without stealing existing art.

I don’t mind the technology so much as all the chodes who insist they’re real artists because they spent two hours typing different variations of “catgirl with enormous breasts, baroque, visible cleavage, girl I liked in high school” into the Midjourney discord.

The best part of these articles are the people who see this as people having an issue with this as a “fear of ai” issue and not a “this will be abused by our overlords to harm people, because look at everything that has ever happened in time until this point“ issue.

Based on your hate-boner for a typical Kotaku writer, I may have some ideas.

Luke doesn’t seem the type to touch you.

“We should not be angry at unethical things happening. Thats just the way of things and we should absolutely do nothing to change that.”

All the examples that you gave are either free according to the license, have to give credits to the creator or you have to pay for them in order to use it. All of those things have not been taken into consideration with AI and just been scraped from the internet without any consideration.  Iray is just a renderer and

People thinking they are artists because they had a prompt idea are as ridiculous as people defending capitalistic pillars of property.

Yeah hands are tough and I’ve seen them drawn badly before, but like, I feel like a human artist would have recognized that the fingernail goes on the end of the finger and not halfway along. Like it’s a different degree of wrong.

The problem is that as people become more and more dependent on “factory made” goods, actual craft and know-how is often lost. We saw this with the advent of industrialized goods. Not many people know how for instance to craft intricately woven baskets of extreme complexity, and many techniques are now simply

because that’s how antitrust works? like for fucks sake yes we get it, you don’t like big companies but the fact is that in the gaming market Microsoft is not the BIG company. Sony is. Sony has more than 50% more revenue than microsoft does and the Xbox is only really competitive with PlayStation in the US. pretty

You’re looking at the whole company vs whole company. Not division of company vs other division of company. Sony gaming is the clear marketplace leader with Nintendo and Microsoft trailing.

I’m sick of console wars. I don’t think they serve anyone but big corporations that don’t deserve our allegiances.
