“At this point, they might as well just write in a special tool the doctor can use anytime he wants to ret-con anything and everything they want, just to suit the purposes of the current story.”

Because we live in a deeply stupid and diseased country that’s allergic to regulation for fear of limiting the “free” market and losing corporate donations to either party.
Why is this tech being allowed on the roads at all?
As someone from Northern Ireland this episode had definite echoes of Bloody Sunday in Derry in 1972.
Also gotta love that Brasso got to clock some stormtroopers with Maarva’s Brick! What a send-off. Her actual bodily remains got to punch some fascists.
Honestly, I was about to be thrilled that a scowling villain would get trampled to death by those they had oppressed.
Maarva’s speech was amazing. It’s one of those speeches that you can listen to on its own and feel inspired. Fiona Shaw acted the heck out of that scene, and she was making that speech directly to a camera without any body movements beyond her head and mouth.

And now she has learned a valuable lesson, the police’s desire to help is highly conditional on them seeing you as “one of the good ones” and as soon as they think you aren’t, they will kill you in a heartbeat with a smile on their lips and a song in their heart. ACAB.
It’s basically Revolutionary MS Pilot Utena, and that’s alright with me.
Unless Hertz suffers consequences this will continue. Arresting managers and executives for false police reports would send a message, as would refusing to accept reports. Unfortunately police are more interested in waving guns than actually investigating
