Stupid comparison. Dye in Diablo 3 costs like 500 gold, which is so negligible it might as well not cost anything, and is not RNG based at all. Shaders in Destiny are RNG based, consumable (now), and are being offered for real money.

So, Guild Wars 2 makes dyes unlockable. Once you’ve got it, you’ve got it. Mechwarrior Online does the same. Those are just two off the top of my head. And here’s another thing - these shaders CAN’T be paid for using in-game currency. It would be EXACTLY like buying a lootbox in Overwatch and getting a sweet new

Except it is not that. Was Diablo real money? I do not know this part.

Because you can’t just buy the shaders you want. It’s RNG based behind a paywall.

The REAL problem is that the price of games has held steady at $60 despite inflation and the rising cost of game development. $60 is pretty expensive to begin with, so it’s hard to imagine that changing, but this is unsustainable!

You’re right in that ultimately all of this cosmetic stuff is meaningless, but at least in Overwatch once you have a skin it is yours. It’s not like you can only use it for a dozen battles before it’s gone. It would be less egregious if you bought it once and it was reusable.

I think the real rabble is due to shaders being unlimited in Destiny 1. So they changed a gameplay element to feed their MTX store.

If Overwatch 2 came out with 1-time use skins (that were lost when changing skins) there’d be the same backlash

The difference is that when you change your skin in Overwatch, you don’t lose the previous skin and have to unlock it all over again.

Honestly, its been really gross watching companies try to push the line a little bit each time. This is a real problem that needs to be dealt with before it kills the industry.

This had me crying. I wasnt expecting this then when it popped up, every moment was with me and my friend that passed away from breast cancer in April. I miss her.

We believe some people without any evidence, and don’t believe others without all the evidence in the world.

It’s so telling that the first responses to his original tweet was a bunch of assholes suggesting Bennett made the whole thing up to suit his “agenda”

No doubt this video will still do little to dissuade them otherwise

It’s good that you recognize your own weakness.

You think you know a person and then they practically come out and admit they eat puppies.

(The answer is Nolan North.)

HE’S BACK, AND HE’S CROSS.

Windows just works I guess

Even still. If Android tried to wipe out my legacy apps tomorrow, I’d be switching companies. I’m surprised iOS users put up with this kind of stuff.

What? What a phenomenally stupid upgrade then.
