My wife loved her previous mini even though it was an unreliable pos, this would be perfect for her (assuming Peugeot did not make the electrics) but the range is too short to do her daily commute so I guess it’s a Tesla next. Good job making an almost useful car.

If by “left leaning” you mean I want my kids to have breathable air and land to live on that’s not poisoned and/ or underwater then yes, i guess I’m left leaning.

Maybe if Trump wasn’t busy trying to poison the air, water and earth in order to benefit his rich backers they would have sided with him. Had Trump made California’s standards countrywide (which they are by default anyway since more than just California follows them) everyone would have voted yes.

I used to be a BMW owner, switched to Audi/ VW for the diesels, switched to Mercedes when VW bought them back and next will be getting Tesla’s. After driving the Tesla’s and seeing my coworkers extended experiences with them I’d be stupid not to.

Early adopters are suckers. Never buy the first year or even first 6 months of anything. There are literally 100's of items they have not figured out or fixed until year 2.

I love Subaru whining “He claims the only EVs that have any commercial success are Teslas.”. Well that’s because only Tesla has taken electric cars seriously. Everyone else has half assed implementation and no one but Tesla has taken charger availability seriously. One of my co-workers drove from Toronto to San

lot’s of Teslas with 200K miles+ and batteies still capable of 80% capacity. Can’t say the same for others electric cars thus far. We will see for the VAG products.

It’s not motors, that’s the easy part. It’s batteries and battery controls. Li-On’s are not simple lead acids. The charging and discharging are VERY complex software controlled events and this is the key to maximum utilization. VAG does not have long term data hence they are being safe and leaving range in the

So why are the Porsche and it’s VAG stablemate the e-tron both disappointedly inefficient compared to Tesla? There is A LOT of science to charging and discharging electric batteries and Tesla has years of experience the others do not. VAG and the other German manufacturers are and will be for some time playing

So at first the pilots did not know mcas even existed. It was intentionally left out of the Ipad training and was barely if at all mentioned in the manual. Once the first crash happened they told them how to shut it off but as it was integrated with the power trim that gets shut off as well. Normally that would not be

This is what happens when you try to jump into a complex technology where someone has more then a decade of knowledge over you. You’re a decade behind. Tesla’s battery charge and utilization technology and knowledge is so far beyond it will take years to catch up to today and by then they will be ahead even more. I

The trim wheels can’t be turned by hand under load and mcas was slaved to the power trim. Mcas trims the plane down to avoid stall (much further and faster then they told faa it could), even if you know how to shut it off once you do you can’t manually move trim so you turn power trim back on, start trimming like made

And do they use one known defective sensor with no indication light or gauge for assumed position? Do they ignore the fact they have two sensors and not compare or verify data? Does their system repeatably overpower the trim adjustment? Did they lie to airlines, pilots and the faa as to the power and range of their

People I know buying Tesla’s are previous BMW and Audi owners so yeah, Tesla is mostly eating the German’s lunch. Also I was in Germany in September and Switzerland in December and seeing LOTS of Tesla’s. Big change from even last year. If I were a German (or luxury) automaker I would be nervous.

That is the most bullshit response ever. Planes are not supposed to have single point of failure sensors that kill everyone especially one sensor that is known to Boeing to be woefully defective and failure prone. Add to that the lack of verification with the second sensor, lack of disagree lights, lack of telling

So he was making at least 23 million per year and up to 44 million for leading the team making the criminally negligent decisions that killed 346 people. In a fair and just system he would do time and have his money stripped away. Of course in our actual system so low level lackey will get the book thrown at them and

Buy a German car. I can plug in a scanner, diagnose the issue, order and install the new part and it won’t work. Why? Because you need to have vagcom or star service or bmwicon to code the part. You can buy hacked software (like the farmers can) but it’s technically illegal.

The problem is coded replacement parts. You can’t change any module on a German car without the ability to code it to the system. You can get around by buying hacked software (normally Eastern European or Asian sourced). It’s the same problem with John Deere. You can figure out what is broke, buy and install the part

They are all so goddamn ugly. I mean I’d love to have Japanese reliability (instead of the German reliability I currently have) but I will not be seen in something sooooo ugly.

Seriously did they just not test them? Like how do release cars to magazines  knowing what they say will make or break your company without even testing them? It boggles the mind. They own their failure lock, stock and two smoking barrels.
