I haven’t yet watched the show, so I can’t comment on its quality. I’m more than willing to bet that the majority of review bombers complaining about its “wokeness” are in the same boat.

There seems to be an amazing amount of crossover between alternative/holistic health movements and antivaxxer/QAnon/Trumper BS though. Think of how many diet and exercise plans are just dressed up MLM schemes for suburban conservative housewives to peddle on Facebook and Instagram along with their conspiracy theories.

This reminds me of the outcry over The Last Jedi and its alleged “wokeness”. What, because it had more than two characters, some of whom were NOT white men (gasp!), with an actual story arc? The most ridiculous complaint was that Rey was a “Mary Sue”, as if Luke going from farmboy to Jedi in about thirty seconds in…

Yep. He actually admitted he was wrong for a few days after the election, but then decided to double down and claim that the only reason Obama won was massive voter fraud, without any evidence (sound familiar?)

I think the point is that those are more like sub-spectrums of the larger political spectrum. Like the most extreme leftist would be an anarchist, while the most extreme rightist would be a fascist. The poster did a pretty good job of explaining where on the spectrum the leading Democratic politicians fall.

I think in general, most British (and Australian) actors have demonstrated the ability to play an American without their natural accent coming through, whereas the reverse is rarely true. You could easily watch the entire series of The Wire and have no idea that Stringer Bell is portrayed by a British actor. 

In other words, they’re actually center-right and finally admitting that the Democrats are the same despite years of being painted as evil Communists. That’s the dirty little secret of American politics - Reagan and his successors have dragged the Overton window so fucking far to the right that mainstream Democrats…

It really does seem that as comedians age and lose their edge, they tend to drift into reactionary politics as the last way they can shock people.

He won the popular vote in more states than Hillary did. Running up the numbers in CA and NY means fuck all when you lose swing states. 

True but there is no love lost between Palin and the other top Republican in the race (Begich) who finished 3rd - her ex-in-laws held a fundraiser for Begich and obviously enough of his voters ranked Peltola 2nd to put her over the top. 

I use Twitter as an outlet for arguing with idiot Republicans, but I would never go after someone because some of their relatives were wearing Blue Lives Matter or MAGA gear in the background of a couple of their photos. Unless she herself actually was expressing bigoted opinions or sharing misinformation, no reason…
