If there’s one superpower that fucker has, it’s his almost reality-defying ability to wriggle out of each of his fuckups leaving someone else to get caught holding the bag - and then venture into his next fuckup with people lining up to volunteer to hold the next bag.

‘Rebelling’ indicates that it’s somewhat of an effort on their part, as opposed to the default resting state.

It was Tony’s fault, that guy over there.

The expanded storage has the same performance figures as the internal drive, and larger drives are supported for the future so that should work fine.

That’s very likely true, but game developers don’t make games with ‘US based systems built in the last 5 years’ as the base spec, which is the most important bit.

It’s 12 TF of FP32 performance, early unoptimized games in practice look to be posting figures between a 2080 and a 2080 Super from what Digital Foundry is seeing. AMD has nothing on the market at that level, or even with that architecture - best current Radeons are all RDNA1, what Xbox is using is ‘Big Navi’ or RDNA2

The GPU specs are slightly below the 2080 Super, so an equivalent graphics card by itself currently costs more than the entire XSX will. At consumer prices - if you can buy PC parts wholesale tho pls hook me up thnx.

A couple of us were trying to make XSeX stick, but unfortunately it doesn’t seem to be sticking...

Steam hardware and software survey is automated and opt-out, not opt-in. Knowledge is, indeed, half the battle.

Interestingly, even a top-of-the-line manually overclocked 2080Ti with custom water cooling beats this by no more than 15-20% performance, and the card and cooling alone would cost about $1600, pushing the total PC price closer to five times the cost.

People may not realize this, but a console hasn’t been the most powerful gaming hardware compared to an average gaming PC in literally 20 years (PS2 was probably the last one). Ergo, the XSX release will represent the largest single jump in base spec in two decades.

Honestly I couldn’t wish custom water-cooling loop maintenance on a more deserving group of people.

Digital Foundry are posting an XSX video bonanza on their YouTube channel, apparently it’ll keep up for the entire week. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Witchard so happy :-)

I’ll answer your question in a moment, but first let me awkwardly wedge into the conversation the important fact that my CPU is liquid cooled. I’m sure you can see how this fact lends my opinions far more weight.

Now playing

Here you go, Digital Foundry shot a demo of quick resume on actual hardware:

Here’s a sobering figure for us PC gamers: a quick perusal of the Steam Hardware Survey report page will reveal that the architecture Microsoft has specified here outperforms approximately 98.9% of all PCs on Steam period.

I have no idea who he is. I haven’t seen it. I don’t know anything about it. I don’t take responsibility at all.
