Super cute :-)

Please don’t feign ignorance Heather. You know exactly what he means, and you know all of these people’s post-FFVII resumes probably better than we do. It’s very clear what ProxyOne is saying.

...right, yeah. Or - or! - and now hear me out here, this is crazy but it just might work...

I don’t understand how phone companies can pay attention to the most ridiculous, useless details of their flagship models, and then dump them out into the market with a one-year update cycle like they were trash.

It’s almost hard to believe, but we now have the incredible future technology to have the entire outside frame of the phone light up in any color we wanted - if only phone manufacturers built them that way, instead of making them cool-looking and useless.

...I wouldn't know actually - I wasn't a big fan of 8 the first time around, haven't tried the remake.

Do you think ‘more in-depth storytelling’ is the biggest problem people had with that game?

I’m sorry Fahey you must be mistaken. You keep saying positive things about the game, but as we all know faithful remakes are a creatively bankrupt endeavor done by dull people, and can never be good. Only a last-minute heaping helping of metanarrative time travel horseshit can truly elevate a formerly cash grab game

Whether you’re a huge fan of the 1997 original or don’t even know what a Sephiroth is, one thing’s for sure: This game is very, very good.

I think it would be difficult for them to go too far off the rails, considering that the world of FF7 more or less already exists, so the way that the rest plays out is at least bound to a setting.

While I understand where you’re coming from, if one is considering buying a special edition of the currently most expensive console I can only assume their budget would likely withstand a regular X1X plus some decorations (if this special edition ends up costing the same as the regular X1X then I suppose that changes

I’m a big fan of the recent round of AI upscales for the PC ports with prerendered backgrounds, and I’m currently waiting for IX to get its complete interface overhaul mod so I can play it with the Moguri upscaled backgrounds but without the huge smartphone menus. It already looks amazing, the best it’s ever looked.

No I get the Johnny Silverhand reference. It still needs to look good, which it doesn’t. I’m not gonna put a Thomas Kinkade on my wall even if the print quality is really good. Or should I say, Transformers 2 doesn’t get appreciably better if you watch it on 4K Bluray.

Tastes will of course vary, but the storyline is not one of the best in the series IMO - interesting ideas do not a great story make. As for the world map, while it’s not exactly a corridor shooter there is still such a thing as being too focused for a Final Fantasy game - and it’s not a matter of padding because when

Nice gimmick, but the actual artwork on the console and gamepad is disappointingly bad. I’d say get a regular X1X and some nice vinyls for the case and pad - but actually as you say yourself there’s zero point in buying an X1X any more.

Mouse because of the shooting.

But of course! I understand completely. <wink>

Well, crap. You know when you know for a long time that something is coming, so that helps you mentally prepare so when it happens it... still hurts like a sumbitch regardless?

The total number of Os is a constant. I don’t know what’s not clear about that. Learn some maths! :-P

This is all highly accurate and I agree with all of it. I especially like how you titled the post ‘Five Best FF Games’ and then listed FFX as the sixth game, clearly indicating it is not one of the best FF games, which is also accurate.
