Democrats been kicking the Left in the face as general policy since Bill Clinton; the rationale has been that we will still vote for Dems because we have nowhere else to go. Trump’s populist ascent is the logical consequence of that strategic failure.

The whole point of the original New Deal was for the US Government to spend money on things that benefit everyone (roads, bridges, dams, airports, schools, post offices, etc). Chances are you got some of these work projects in the town you live - look for signs/engravings that have a date in the 1930's or 40's

Construction workers and engineers stand to make a lot of money off the infrastructure projects a GND would include. Same goes for farmers and agricultural scientists who would see their opportunities explode. Are those the "kings" you're talking about?
