I just downloaded and started the game on my iPhone. There are multiple options for different gamepad types, so tomorrow I’ll see if my ipega gamepad works- I haven’t tried for a while, but the first update for Secret of Mana to include gamepads worked, but I couldn’t set the buttons to what I wanted to and just opted

Secret of Mana iOS is the only game I actually enjoy on a touch device. Hopefully, this one is optimized in a similar fashion. I just hate covering so much of the real estate with my thumbs.

Apparently you've never been whipped with a garden. Shit will change your perspective.

One wouldn’t fault any of us for thinking that, because previews have continually touted this as a MH like experience. Of course it falls short (for all of its faults as a company, Capcom has earned its salt by properly keeping the MH franchise improving with every entry), but I’m still enjoying it as a fun

Honestly, Mike- FFE isn’t the MH formula. It’s really a Crystal Chronicles game with online focus and a light loot system. Monster Hunter has a much deeper strategy and co-op nature to it, as well as a stringent loot/fundage management system. As much as I’m enjoying Explorers, it feels like a cheap beat-em-up with

A lot of people think that the attacks being based on perishable stickers and the lack of an exp/growth system made the game a complete loss. Let’s face it- Mario RPGs are (while awesome games) never hard core in the realm of growth and customization. If people just opened up and played it, they’d see that it’s a

Loop metal intro theme. Perfection.

That upside down castle was naught but a miserable little pile of secrets- but enough talk!

I wonder, again, why people are worried about the FFVII remake and the sanctity of its original artistic integrity.

You know what could have set this game on fire? A true remake like that of FFIV DS. Even though it was DS graphics, IV was so great to see with a bit of dimension and cinematics. I remember Squeenix had both V and VI in the play books, but they allegedly scrapped them due to technological limitations. I thought maybe

See, I view him as having a vendetta- however the fact that he leads accordingly yet still complies and cooperates with the others to show a lack of actual angst. But, oh well- to each their own. I just don't think it's fair to repetitively put that label on a dynamic character. It cheapens the whole deal pretty

Nah- the rewrite of the GBA version missed the mark a few times IMO. Plus, the screen dimensions were cut off, the musical fidelity was rubbish, and it still had the static portraits near the text- and if I get to be REALLY picky, I hated the text font, ha ha.

Totally true. He goes through changes. He gains patience, love and even care for all of his teammates, who were basically assigned to him and he couldn't stand- but even by the end, he's an angsty little shit through and through. One could imagine that after the celebration, he cut off everybody- probably even Rinoa.

Ha ha- we’re thanking eachother too much!

If you read my comment, you’d see that I admit that I cross the term “angsty” to mean the more emo and sulky nature they’ve baked into him post-game.

It’s not just that- this game, like all RPGs of its generation and prior, were built around a concept that has waned in recent years and can’t be extrapolated by hardware upgrades: imagination.

Agreed. He has a grip on leadership and a bit of resolve, even in his limited cameo. FFVIII is one of my least favorite in the series, and it’s mostly for the characters. I feel like they tried to take the worst of Cloud and Aerith’s characteristics and extrapolate them into Squall and Rinoa- and then exhausted

Admitting it is the first step! J/K ;p

Somebody recommended one of my posts on here, so I re-read our comments. I just wanted to say that if you like cleaning up older JRPGs, try Breath Of Fire IV- it's on PSN and it's an awesome game. I liked I and II, but III felt like a reasonless romp for the sake of bringing the series into the 32 bit realm. IV comes

I mean, that’s a way to look at it. I disagree, however. The cold, mercenary attitude in the beginning isn’t Zack. He’s not COMPLETELY as sunny and upbeat as Zack, and he still retains memories of his own past- just not in clarity or separation from Zack’s memories. In fact, most of his “Zack” memories only involve
