Tricky, because countless people who are playing AC are die-hard Nintendo fans. Just like in real life, I have rare and collectible video game figurines spattered about my living space- and being that it's a game where you make decisions similar to those you would make in real life, I don't see it as irregular.

I just puked in my mouth. I hope that my speaking and reasoning skills were better than this when I was half their age- and I'm fairly sure they were. Also, I'm never having children now. Thanks, Fahey!

Oof- and I remember a particular water park by me where the concrete walkway suddenly took a downward grade over the lazy river area, resulting in a mutilated stubbed toe for every kid that ran down it. Chlorine and kid-piss all up in your bloodstream.

I think it's popular because indie studios have noticed that a few of the minimalistic games sold well, and it requires much less work for them, meaning they can shovel out games quickly with less cost or effort. It's a shame, because I know some of these games are good, and are deserving of stylized visuals. The

Cue "graphics don't matter, gameplay does" tirade. Although I agree that REALISTIC graphics don't add to a game, I absolutely agree that forced "8-bit" and minimalistic styling is getting tired as hell. Effing memes.

Similar to how running in Animal Crossing destroys your flowers and scares valuable fish and bugs away. I still have to tell people not to run when they visit my verdant town.

In Final Fantasy IV (SNES FF2), fighting Cecil's dark knight doppelganger numerous times after becoming a Paladin on Mt. Ordeals, only to be killed over and over...... then learning quite by accident that sparing the sword earns you the right to proceed, and a short lesson. 12 year old me needed this.

"I remember once I asked my mom if she and a friend came over to America on the same boat. She laughed at me. "No, we flew on an airplane.""

Really? I have it as my background right now, ha ha! The second, newer one, that is. I found it when I got my newer laptop, about 6 months ago. Awesome.

Yup- they keep touting it as an original game just in case people pin it as a remake, ha ha. I, for one, am glad it has the same overworld- it's my favorite- and different dungeons. I have high hopes. I consider myself to have a realistic point of view when it comes to what Nintendo will and will not do (for

I know. I was making a joke point about native tongue and such. Also, I'm fairly certain that Seiken Densetsu 2 doesn't literally translate to Secret of Mana.

To a dog, it would be "Bla Blabla Bla Blabla: Bla Bla Bla Bla Bla". Or, if they had an official name in their language, they could use that. Do you always refer to Japan as "Nippon" when speaking to an English speaking westerner? Wanna know what another of my favorite SNES games was? Secret of Mana- not Seiken

It's the beginning of A Link to the Past, when Link wakes to see his uncle leaving to investigate the castle, and he tells Link not to follow- shortly before he's discovered half dead, hands Link his sword and shield, and the grand adventure begins.

Samesies. I also love the one of him and Zelda cautiously trudging through the castle sewers. So much told and fleshed out through simple pictures.

The LTTP booklet art is the stuff my dreams are made of. I actually still think of the picture of Link gazing at the Tower of Hera from the misty cliff whenever I think of how your imagination changed the worlds of 8 and 16 bit games when you were younger (that, and the way the booklet art from Zelda 1 gave me a

I agree with you for the most part. It's tough being a fan of Nintendo sometimes, because it's different from just being a "gamer", so to speak. You can be pleased by a game and disappointed at the same time. You can love their games all the way through, but see all of the places where tiny little things would have

I always feel like people who call Ocarina of Time "the best game ever" have never played many games, and those who call it "the best Zelda game" have never played A Link to the Past, or any of the other Zelda games when they were relevant. I'll admit that I love the game- much more on 3DS than on N64- but, it's very

Hear hear!!

I guess I'm just the opposite- to me, unless it's a cinema-quality game, I rather enjoy the childish garble or text-based silence. I have also enjoyed subtitled games with non-English voice acting in the past, and even some games do well with English voices when the game has short, characteristic quips in lieu of

Trust me, it would be a lot cornier than you think....
