If you feel like this was not a big deal you are too young to remember how truly horrible American cars were in the 80s. I still remember the first hot olds I saw with the HO version of this motor. Not a GM fan but the effort was noticed.

I call BS on the operating costs of the Alfa. There is no way that thing isn’t spending half the year in the shop. It’s fuel costs are likely half of whats being used.

It’s always stunning how mediocre men will suit up for war to attack mediocre (or even exceptional) women, but never turn that keen criticism on other mediocre men. Even when the field is full of them.

On looks and sound, it’s gotta be the 312/67-68. I don’t think a better looking F1 car has ever been made.

You have to be on site to understand the full glory of these engines. No audio recording does justice to the sheer ear-splitting volume. Even from a hundred yards away in the stands, it’s just brutal.

IDK how many times I’ve watched this over the years. So good.

Yeah, a few grand didn’t make much difference when I got my 15-year adjustable-rate loan for my F-250 King Ranch.

This is true and it also seems that the people with the least driving skill gravitate towards the biggest vehicles, presumably so that they can crush the other vehicle or person they “didn’t see”.

Or, today’s vehicles are built comically large for the environment in which they have to exist.

Maneuverability is an underrated virtue, too.

Probably. My guess is that it’s going to be more or less a Transit Connect pickup.  And if that’s all it is, it will be the most awesome small truck built in 30 years.

Just bring us the next incarnation of what would have been the Ford Falcon ute!!  I’m not a Ford guy typically, but damned if I would rush to buy as soon as it came out!

I would.  I’ve been bitching about too-big small trucks for years.

I’d buy one in a heartbeat. Was looking forward to the Ranger until I saw the price.

As an engineer myself you still have to design products for the customer and since GM products are the only ones with accidental curtain deployment it seems they are to blame. It’s not unreasonable to accept more risk to prevent a misfire that costs $6400. Especially if owners start disabling their airbags which is

This is not NYC specific. Shitty town halls and city workers exist everywhere.

Is there like a Worst Comment of The Day that I can nominate the above for?

Why do people live in New York again?

Looks painful
