Riot responds to years of women and minorities being marginalized and discriminated against by meeting with the parties directly affected to understand their experiences. Men kick in the door and scream that it’s not fair their feelings weren’t considered first and foremost.

When I worked for AT&T 20 years ago, we were told never to use Ma’am and Sir on the phones because some people had gotten upset about it. Apparently there’s a small percentage of people who feel using that word ages them immediately. That’s the only time I’ve ever heard that line of thinking.

I think part of the strength of Youtube as a platform has been the everyperson style of it. At the beginning, at least, most youtubers are solo acts, doing all the work themselves. That can make them relatable to their audiences, and pull in numbers that some prepackaged focus group manufactured star doesn’t.
