A person convicted of domestic violence or the subject of a protective order is banned from gun possession by federal law. Of course, people that shoot up a house filled with people and kids are not very concerned about the law.

My first instinct is that this is a jilted lover/ former abuser situation, and the fact that that’s where my mind immediately goes devastates me.

“Ohio is an open-carry state that allows residents to openly possess firearms with or without a license.”

Long outlandish take is long and outlandish.

And don’t forget the great Stephen King TV movie from 1999 that was sort of a modern retelling with ... supernatural ... elements.

I love Jen Kirkman.

Except, however nice she was to you, her take is still wildly awful. It is possible for a woman (or man) to have smart jokes about sex and their genitalia. If you’re assuming someone’s jokes are dumb merely because of the subject matter, you probably aren’t the smart one.

Someone always wants to play Twelve Angry Men.

The showrunner is named Jonah Nolan here but its actually Jonathan Nolan - who is also director Christopher Nolan’s brother and writing partner. When I learned that the whole tone of the show made perfect sense.

talk of previous violent incidents, expression of paranoia, overreaction to workplace changes, unstable/emotional responses, feeling of arrogance/supremacy, intense anger/hostility, violations of policy, exploiting/blaming others

However you didn’t mind getting a 4 year free ride at UVA, founded by a slave owner.

This is actually fascinating to me. In general terms, supernatural media often closely reflects the anxieties of the society that generates it. In this case, it looks like the fear of the other (and the fear of the destruction of the social contract) that The Walking Dead runs on is the same fear that got Trump

Never have I more heartily cosigned a sentiment.
