Speaking for myself, it’s not the three days themselves, but what they say about the game’s state. Without any other information, it’s reasonable to suspect that a delay like this is due to a last minute critical bug. Either the fix is planned for a zero day patch, or it’s server-side.

I’m well versed with 3D on android and ios. However, my optimization focus has been towards increasing frame rate, not decreasing it. :) I maintain my assessment that overlaying a single moderate poly count model will likely not benefit from a frame rate cap below native. AR is laggy as it is. I guess we’ll see based…
While technically they can do these things, the general AR experience on these devices is laggy enough without artificially reducing the frame rate, IMO. I don’t believe the savings they’d achieve would amount to much, since the overlay should be cake for the 3D processor to do at the camera’s native frame rate…
AR apps can’t ‘redraw areas that need redrawing’, or reduce frame rate. Combine GPS with camera with 3D and you have a recipe for battery drain. Perhaps they can reduce the polling on the GPS, but that’s not something that can be instantly turned back on, so ...? I wish them luck.
That is not the norm. Some places allow mail-in permit requests.
