I don’t think “Bat-Dance” was confusing in this context...

2 points for the Bat-Dance

3 points for the last one.

Certainly interesting, and would love to learn more about this. However, what really freaks me out about this great thaw, is what kind of bacteria and microbes are being freed by it, and what sort of impact is it going to have on us?

Travis’ point is well taken - a fan base should never trust a wealthy owner. Their goals have always been, and always will be the bottom line above anything else. Saying that it’s “just business” is a way of saying that it’s okay I guess. Whatever. If you have a fave team in your city, pray that the owner is local,

Do the professionals hold things against you like that? Do the angry fan boys have that much clout? To prevent a voice actor they’ve never heard of from working?

I guess that’s what is was worth?

No Wilma!?!

He has to play a comic relief role.

Nope. I don’t buy it. A voice actor with only one voice?!? Come on. Besides, he’s gainfully employed, and that’s probably at least in part due to a certain Star Wars role that made a lot of press...

Don’t forget this guy...

that’s making my skin crawl...

But if there’s a voice-over, then we all hate it, right?
:-)

Meh. He was well paid. People in the industry wouldn’t hold the reaction against him; that’s all on Lucas. He did good work and did his job well. Most professionals would agree with that. It’s only the biggest Star Wars / Jar-Jar haters that would have an associated hate on for the actor. And, mostly, those people are

I agree with one small adjustment: that the difference between the two is absolutely massive. I love Star Wars; I hate LotR. One because it’s hard SF (or tending hard SF), the other because it’s 100% fantasy with no redeeming SF qualities at all.

Please stop this nonsense. Everyone knows that 3 & 4 are actually 1 & 2. Denying this is pointless.

*sigh*

This is a senseless rabbit hole. Compare Star Wars to Lord of the Rings - that’s the fantasy / hard SF difference that I’m talking about. If you think those are very similar, then we’re on totally different wavelengths...

Guess it’s how you define “hard sci fi” (please don’t drop the wiki page at me) - hard sci fi tries to be as technical accurate as possible. I’d also add that it takes great strides to be as technically feasible as possible. And that it does.

Please. Since always. Just because it has a fantasy component doesn’t mean it aint hard SF. It’s pretty much the best hard SF there is...
