Apparently a lot of people, since the Uglies series (the fourth book, Extras, is mentioned in the article) spent some time on the best sellers list. I've heard of several of the others as well. So apparently many people do like to read books that are compelling and have a bit of thought behind them - who knew?

In the book in question (Extras, in the Uglies series), the city where some are choosing this style is supposed to be Japan/Japan-like (it mentions that they speak Japanese at a few points). So they probably should be less Caucasian in this case if this is an idea sparked by the book.

People watching at Disney parks is amazing. And frightening. Just don't do it on a grad night - it's scary watching the SoCal kids that are managing to graduate terrorize the park (and extremely rude and pretty dumb!) and knowing they're out in the real world soon... If I have to explain to one more eighteen year old

Just head into City Hall and they direct you where to go. While you don't technically need a doctor's note, I'd suggest having one just so you look legit (they've had an increasing number of people pretending they have all sorts of problems and maladies, so sometimes they give them a lesser pass). Make sure you get a

Thank you! I LOVE all the people who go to Disneyland and then complain about standing in line and walking. My favorite are the people who bitch at the employees because they're pissed that they had to wait in line for a ride. And stand! Like they're shocked and had no idea to expect such atrocities...?!

And at Disney, fast passes are free. You just get one every two hours, so choose carefully since some rides are more popular and run out of fast passes more quickly.

They say select rides in case there are any issues preventing them from entering right away, but generally the tour guide gets you on in no time. It's just their way of covering themselves so the folks who get the tours don't bitch if they have to wait a minute or two.

If you have those issues at Disneyland, City Hall gives you passes that let you enter through exits and skip a HIGH percentage of the lines and it doesn't cost you an extra cent. You just have to be really clear what problems you have, that it's hard being squished in with people because of those issues, etc. :) (I

But it can be bought at Disneyland. If you pay for the top level tour, the Guest Relations tour guide walks you right onto the rides. No lines. The other level tours get a fair amount of it, too.

I prefer to forget it as well...

There was a third season (even if it wasn't as good as the first two seasons!).

I've seen some great stuff backstage as well. My favorite is probably seeing Mary Poppins and Burt practicing their Harry Potter deadly curses (you know they want to use them on the guests).

GAC, not GAP. It stands for Guest Assistance Card.

Regardless of all opinions, feelings, etc., I'm almost a bit surprised at some of the similar cases I've heard of where the people are suing over it. (I know, I know - people are going to get all huffy when I say that, but hear me out...)

fast passes are free :)

Okay, I'm a current Disney slave- uhh, I mean "cast member" (heh) and this article is only so-so accuracy-wise... No, whoever this other company is doesn't have an in with the company that makes their clients more special/more believed about handicaps (or alleged handicaps). Any guest can go to Disney's City Hall and

Thank you for saying what I was going to say! Social psychology looked at this after the atrocities of WWII (when people were wondering how people could have gotten sucked into the Nazi way of life - no, they weren't just bad people, they were mostly normal people who got sucked in!) and found that normal people can

Different breeds have different personalities and I know bengals tend to be active cats, but it could just be a nutball/inbred/whatever in a particular case (or, as I suspect in most cases, just not knowing how to properly train an active cat, which is a challenge and not for novice cat owners - it takes a LOT of time

On the plus side, the same day I heard Mary Poppins and Burt practicing their Harry Potter curses "off stage." Gave me a chuckle. :)

Haha funny that you say that. I had some annual passholders "test" my smile the other day. I had my stuff in hand and was walking through the park from where I park (it was pretty obvious that I wasn't actually working yet), then some little boys stopped me. They were maybe around six years old and had a map out,
