Android Wear's search/commands are not nearly as smart as they are on the phone or desktop. There have been multiple times where something that works on my phone only returns web results on the watch.

I use Google Drive mostly because I was already using Picasa to backup and share my images, it only made sense to keep it in the family, so to speak. There is (limited) transferring between the two services, but more importantly the storage is shared, so I just have one big pool of storage with one scheduled payment.…

Haven't heard of that happening, and if anything it was likely with something that was shared publicly on Google+ with no additional licensing requested for re-use, rather than stored privately on Google Drive.
