I am from and love Detroit and drive stick every day

Not true. As an alum of the UofM solar car team, I can testify that those cars will keep up with traffic. The newest ones have a full-sun break even speed (energy in=energy out) of over 60mph. A couple have even hit triple digits during track testing.

Now there’s a car powered by it’s roof!

Forget eBay and head to the enthusiast sites. That’s where the best examples and some of the better deals can be found. Last year I sold my 1992 Carrara 2 after driving it for four years and piling on 40k miles. I came out $14k ahead. People are going crazy for vintage Porsches and after a quick search of all the

2013 Moto Guzzi V7 Stone.

Using this equation, the University of Michigan Solar Car after the one I worked on back in the day that topped out at about 100 with a 2.5hp electric motor would just need 10 whole horses to make it to 200...if it didn't fly away? I have no idea what would happen to that car at that speed.

I dunno...in that view I really see influence of the FD RX-7 mostly in the shape and slope of the backside of the greenhouse as well as the long and flat trunk-lid that follows

boo...just boo

Flew from Detroit down to Atlanta to buy my Porsche 964 (1992 Carrera 2) 4 years ago. It had to be a black on black coupe with a stick. The one I found down in Hotlanta had less than 70k miles and the guy was asking 22k. Got it for 20 in the end and drove it home with my brother riding shotgun.

You guys definitely grabbed some of the best for the shots below this article. My favorites include the final one here JeHy, the green and yellow number 2 up with the very boxy front end, and the F00 Fighter mostly cuz its ridic

I was in Australia in 2007 for the World Solar Challenge with the University of Michigan Solar Car Team. One of our loaned support vehicles was a small Holden Pickup (I think it was called a UTE back then but now its the Colorado). It had a 5 speed and a 4 pot Turbo Diesel. Learning from the wrong side of the car was

I've got the logo from the University of Michigan Solar Car Team from when I was on the team in 2007/2008:
