FFXV. That was an easy choice. Not all FF games are good, but I have fun with them most of the time.

Pretty much only the anime aimed towards children (Pokemon, PreCure, Doraemon, etc) is shown during regular hours on Japanese TV. Most of the anime you’d most likely watch is shown late-night - like 1am-2am sort of late-night.

Agreed.

I usually don’t care about multiplayer-only games, but there’s one that I’ve been tempted to buy since it was released. But I am afraid of the online community going away and me regretting the purchase. That game is Splatoon.

I worked on a US military base in Japan for a few years (not anymore). There’s this Japanese tattoo artist who runs a shop off-base on the way to the train station. That guy probably makes a ton of money. His shop always had people in there whenever it was open. His clients were mostly US military people from the

The no random encounters thing is one of the things I liked about Bravely Default. You could adjust the encounter rate, from double to nothing and some options inbetween, at will.

Ehhhh.... I’m no longer buying this day one anymore. I’ll wait for a compilation.

Well, she was ugly before. But IMO it had nothing to do with her looking Asian or not. The original Cammy’s hair looked like it was made out of bits of clay or Playdoh attached to her head. It was just bad 3D modeling, IMO.

One of my favorite cartoons when I was a kid was Muppet Babies. Guess who wasn’t in it? It was probably a large reason why that show was fun.

Yep. Ticks me off too. I didn’t realize so many Japanese music labels were blocking content on YouTube since I was living in Japan for 3 years. Some channels I was subscribed to I pretty much can no longer watch since I moved back to the US, as they block every country but Japan. :/

Probably a good reminder for some people. I haven’t played this game yet, but in Fallout 3 (my first Fallout) I didn’t know fast travel existed until I was about halfway through the game. And even once I found it, I mostly just used it to dump off stuff when I was carrying too much and then to travel quickly back.

I had no interest in the Xbox brand for the longest time. It wasn’t until 2 years after the Xbox 360 was out when I got interested. What came out in 2007? Mass Effect, Rock Band, and The Idolm@ster. I’d been into the Japanese import scene for years by that point and all 3 games were killer apps for me. I bought 2 Xbox

Agreed. When I watched all of the promotional, pre-release videos, it looked like a watered down Mario Party. Last night I watched a video of these YouTubers play an entire 45 minute standard game. It was kinda cute looking, but at the same time it looked very boring. It looks like there’s very little strategy or

I’ve never heard of anyone using the water from the tank like that (before the flush).

Style Savvy 3. Come on, Nintendo. You gave Europe a release date. Where’s North America’s? :(

I was disappointed because if this is supposed to encourage me to sell my 360 and buy an X1, it’s not working. Only 3 of the Xbox 360 games I own are on that list. I own a lot of 360 games too.

He sounds like a hikikomori to me. Not that I see a problem with that. I’ve always found dealing with your average person incredibly stressful. The nice thing about video games is that they are predictable. Humans are not.

Retro games are generally far, far cheaper in Japan than they are in the US. The time I lived in Japan I spent tons of time in these used shops hunting for great deals. I got a like new copy of Biohazard 2 (Resident Evil 2) for 100 yen (less than $1). An equivalent condition US copy on eBay costs $15-20. I got the PSP

I just don’t know why some Japanese celebrities don’t get it. It hurts celebrities more than regular people in Japan to do drugs. Why? Because I don’t know if she’ll be able to find work in the entertainment industry ever again. Her career is ruined. She’s likely going to have to do something else.

I don’t have these yet, but I still find it amazing that they actually come with HDMI cables. I’m so used to having to immediately buy some sort of cables for my consoles because they always came with meh A/V cables.
