I need to go out and do this in my M5 right now.

It's not just the South that benefits from foreign auto plants. There are Honda, Toyota, and Subaru plants in Indiana, too.

Now playing

Why does that old Blondie song come to mind?

When I first saw the subject, this is the type of thing I expected. Except I want to go to the pick-a-part and try doing something like this to play Gran Turismo 5.

Completely missing Pole Position.

Dumb question. Most diesels aren't known for their wide range of revs; wouldn't any any boost in torque and hp by putting a diesel in a drag car be negated by the need to constantly shift?

One of the first things that popped into my head after a valium-like rush of hearing the glorious engine noise was "I know that chicane from Gran Turismo 5!"

Poor thing. It's clearly a dual-carb, car, too, which is highly desirable, and likely full numbers matching. With some polish, fluid flushes, and simple tinkering the car can be labeled a "survivor" which is "all original" (save some gaskets) and be sold for well north of $100k at Bloomington Gold.

As a former Grumman Yankee owner, I approve this message. $30k for a Tiger is an excellent deal, too.

I wonder how many of these will work for the airplane I want *ponders*

You're missing the Saabaru 9-2x series. Those are hard to find.

Something tells me that car was close to dead, and that was their fun way of killing it for real.

BMW M70. Nickasil + two ECUs, one for each cylinder bank.

This isn't that new a fad/phenomena. Cessna has done this, too.

I'm going to commit to buying one of the first 86 of a production run of a new car on a new platform that hasn't had its MSRP announced yet. That doesn't seem too wise.

Growing up my dad had a 6000LE for a while; between his late 1970s Impala (Caprice body) and his 1987 turbo T-Bird. The Pontiac was such a POS. The engine went (don't remember if it spun a bearing or threw a rod) at less than 60k miles. I remember it overheating on Irving Park Blvd. on the way to a Cubs game at

*grabs popcorn*

You left out some vintage Cadillacs. You can find 1970s and 1960s de Villes and El Dorados in that price rage. They're fun, huge, pimpin' cars that are not hard to work on and are pretty fast, too.

I'm late to the party, but you guys are forgetting one.
