Looks like we had the EXACT same experience only you summarized yours in a beautiful little haiku. Well done.

Jezebel is literally the only place I ever make comments on, because it’s generally a safe place where people don’t pick weird fights and tear each other down. Generally. Because nowhere is truly safe.

I work at the front desk of a business and this one client comes every Friday and always calls me “kid.” I look young but not THAT young and it mostly just feels like soft sexism masquerading as cutesy. Not knowing my name after dozens of visits is not an excuse. I want to call him “old guy” but that probably wouldn’t

The little moan noise at second 9 is heart-melting.

Thank you!

I’m so sorry that happened to you!

Or rode a horse a lot as a kid. Life facts courtesy of my mom.

I’m sorry, but this is so fucked up. There should absolutely not be a red circle with a line through it over the diamond ring when there is ALREADY the word “no” in front of it. That pretty much makes it a double negative. So in the end the message is “No hymen? diamond.”

Just reading all this stuff about makeup was more work than I put into my appearance unless I have a job interview or my own wedding.

Thanks for the info!

The one I remember best involved a line in his proposed budget that cut funding for agencies that help parents of children who have been sexually abused get the legal and psychological help they need. It wasn’t even like, a resource for poor people (because then other republicans probably would have been cool with it)

We are clinging to Feingold like survivors to a shipwreck. Which is sort of what Wisconsin is right now.

This is so true. He’s spent so long shitting on my home state of Wisconsin so as to waltz into the presidency, had the rich as fuck Kock brothers backing him, and still managed to crash and burn spectacularly.

I wish I had seen the call for these stories.

You are absolutely right - thank you for pointing this out.

It’s okay to not want to trade your mental health for a job

LOVE THIS.

Talk about the dangers of a reactionary-slash-biased media!

Love what you’re saying about the problematic use of gendered terms here!

My partner of 5 years is a chef. I know, #blessed. We met senior year of college and every Thursday I’d go to his place and he’d make an incredible dinner and we’d bone the night away. One night, after a delicious winter meal of Mexican pozole with sides of jalapeño pepper salsa and guacamole, we got down to business.
