Wouldn’t be the first time. RIP Warcraft III
Wouldn’t be the first time. RIP Warcraft III
2016: Winston hits the button
2022: Everyone shows up. Soldier 76 is a dick to everyone in the room
2024: They start their first meeting. Reaper is talking on mute, but nobody tells him.
Yeah, but F2P games tend to use that money to create content for F2P content. Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail made a lot of money in the last month. All that money goes into a full story campaign that everyone gets to play for free.
They said that it would be pay for the PvE stuff, and the PvE stuff would be an entire campaign with talent trees, equipment, and personal progression goals. What they’re showing off here is a one-and-done run-and-gun mission for $5 per mission.
Movies and TV shows can run at 24fps because of frame blur. You don’t get any kind of frame interpolation with video games.
Mid to Late 90s, we were running on CRTs at 60hz (50hz in PAL regions). Refresh rates on CRTs behaves way differently to the naked eye than refresh rates on LCDs.
And a day 1 patch. And a fan mod to fixes a bug that erases your save files.
“Ambitious”. They wanted to make a dungeon crawler. It was gonna be Left4Dead with superheroes, or an instanced based Borderlands, or Diablo with laser rifles.
It’s exhausting keeping up with the “meta-game”, though. Constant reworking is leading to fast burnout.
Because it’s like a 15 year old game. The game won’t just shut down. People still play Runescape and Ultima Online, after all. But if corporate is cutting back on development and letting the game go on autopilot (and estimating that it’ll continue to generate revenue with less investment), people are gonna be…
I understand being uupset. It seems to be the first signs of Riot cutting support for the game altogether, and nobody praises the harbinger of the end. At the same time, it’s the one of the few times where we get to see these characters outside the game in a manner develops their characterization and lore, and they…
Mostly, I think, it was too short. Like there was supposed to be some kind of climax close the end that isn’t there. I was waiting for a “jaw dropping moment” to land, and the video was over before it could deliver.
It’s even worse that I have no idea who is talking. The cinematics have always been about seeing your…
It’s just OW1, but with a bunch of features stripped out, a bunch of free content removed, and a more frustrating gameplay strategy.
That’s Blizzard passing the buck. In the end, it’s Blizzard’s game, Blizzard’s league, and Blizzard’s promotion. They have every power to make this right, but so far they have gone “This is youtube’s fault, so go suck eggs or something”. If they just went “everyone with a connected account gets the free skins and…
Junkenstein’s Revenge is horde mode. Bride of Junkenstein is baby’s first L4D map.
Bud, the Overwatch Archives literally has copies of L4D special zombies. The Assassin is a direct copy of the Witch. They beeline to a player and pin them down, and the other players have to pull her off before it kills them.
Pretending that Overwatch Archives isn’t in the same genre as Left4Dead is like pretending…
It’s four characters who run through a map, killing waves of enemies along the way to get the next checkpoint. It’s just a dumbed down version of Left4Dead/Vermintide/Darktide.
It’s the same old rerun crap, too. Halloween is the same as it was 5 years ago. The “new” mode is a worse version of Archives (the Left4Dead clone) using old assets. It took them 3 years since OW2 was announced to get to this point, and they’ve accomplished nothing.
They’ve added three maps and three characters. They’ve removed 9 maps, a whole competitive game mode, and 2 characters.
Spend 6 hours to get a skin, because you definitely can’t connect to Blizzard’s shit servers right now.
