Seriously. Not only do we learn the metric system along side Imperial in school, but in no way is metric more intelligent. There is zero reason the U.S. needs to waste billions of dollars converting every highway sign (not to mention the thousands of other changes needed) to metric. It's just not necessary.

$4.99 USD. You can always look at the app in iTunes or the App Store and see what the in-app purchases are if they don't tell you the upgrade price.

This comment belongs in the inspirational quotes post. I would happily tape that to my fridge.

Same here. I don't feel like I get that nervous, but without fail I get the shaky hands and voice. It's odd to me because I don't fret about things that are going to go wrong or get especially nervous, but I always have the physical symptoms and I can't figure out why.

Black, Latino, young adult, sloppy dresser... Unless you're a well-dressed white adult don't be surprised if they don't buy "I lost my receipt" even if it's true.

Sorry for being "that guy", but since you wrote it twice (and it's my biggest pet peeve) I have to correct you. The phrase is couldn't care less. If they could care less it means that they do care at least a little.

Coconut oil is worlds better for shaving. For ladies as well. It also smells better, is cheaper and absorbs better so you won't have that oily looking face afterwards. Add some sugar or salt to a couple TBS of coconut oil, rub it in, rinse it off, shave and you won't believe how smooth your skin is.

So the majority of the world who are non-Christians all just have a stick up their butt for not believing in Christ and wanting to celebrate his birthday? Okay... sure.

Do you read e-books? The only reason I got my tablet (over a kindle) was so I could read instructional books in color. It's turned out to be pretty great for regular books too, even if I prefer the real thing. There are so many inexpensive books out there it's worth giving it a shot.

While we're on the topic I thought I would share my favorite bread from King Arthur Flour. It is hands-down my favorite recipe of all time. I've you've ever had that brown bread from the Cheesecake Factory (don't judge!) it tastes just like that.

I do too, cooking/baking is my biggest non-work passion and I'd love to discuss it more. I've never experimented much with dairy though I did use to make mozzarella back when I was a dairy eater and that was super easy. Good luck with the yogurt, I bet it's delicious homemade.

What's the purpose of that? Just taste?

King Arthur Flour is a great place to start for beginners. The recipes are very clear and the comments usually have great suggestions. Best of all they have hotline you can call. Here's a basic no-knead recipe from them. Check here for more.

This is absolutely terrifying.

Yes, if you're not someone who enjoys the whole drawn-out baking process, or just doesn't have 8 hours to spend waiting for a loaf to rise a bread maker is a great investment. I love taking recipes and adding my favorite ingredients or just experimenting. I know not everyone loves cooking, but if you look at it like

Ah! I wouldn't have thought of that. I actually already started googling for some recipes and found a surprising amount with cooked beans! Never in a million years would I have thought of that. I think I'm going to try this one when my current loaf is gone.

Yes! And for goodness sake, let it cool if you plan on slicing it! It's difficult avoiding that warm gorgeous loaf as it cools off on your counter, but if you don't want want a squished up loaf resist the temptation until it is completely cooled.

Never tried beans (I will definitely try this out sometime), but I am well-versed in flaxseeds! Maybe I'm weird but I like kneading bread and since I work at home long rising doesn't bother me since I'm keeping busy with other things. Or I'll make overnight proofed bagels, or something like focaccia that doesn't

Make your own bread. It's ridiculously easy, inexpensive (even if you buy the best quality ingredients), you can tailor it exactly to your tastes and you'll know everything that's going into it. Read the label on the back of your sliced bead and compare it to a regular bread recipe (flour, salt, yeast, sugar/honey),

Gimp is great for those with less complicated editing needs. But in reality it does around 3% of what Photoshop can do. It's just that the vast majority of people do not need the advanced features contained in Photoshop and probably are not aware of a great deal of them.
