No offense, but you have absolutely no clue about what actually happened in the McDonald’s coffee situation.

You’re wrong in this case. There’s a lot of info in this case that it sounds like you aren’t aware of. Pretty interesting if you want to read up on it.

It is on my default after you upgrade to ios9. I turned it off on our phones. It's probably a good feature, but it should have been opt-in.

Coffee that can cause third degree burns upon a few seconds of contact is not just hot coffee.

I believe they did in fact lower the temperature of the coffee

I think you should watch

And, more importantly, McDonald’s knew they were serving coffee hotter than what was recommend as they had been warned about it multiple times. That’s where most of the fines came from was the judge slapping McDonald’s hard because they had ignored repeated warnings to lower their coffee temperature.

Is it on by default? I want to say it wasn’t on my phone, but I’m not sure.

There’s a difference between hot coffee and lava coffee. McDonalds was serving lava coffee because it was easier then risking serving luke warm coffee.

Wow. I really hope clueless people don’t end up discouraging Apple from implementing other useful features in the future. And as a matter of fact, I’m willing to bet that Wifi assist actually SAVES me some data. If my iPhone keeps automatically connecting to a Wifi netork that is extremely slow or has a weak signal,

It may or may not be relevant: It is easy for those that grew up with computers but not so easy for those who didn’t - especially those that don’t read tech articles.

I agree - the burns on that woman’s thighs literally took her skin off. That’s ridiculously hot for a liquid meant to be consumed in a reasonable amount of time.

Shut-it-off. User accessible setting...a choice. Problem solved.

That McDonalds lawsuit was anything but frivolous. This is the damage that the “hot” coffee did.

Quit calling the coffee lawsuit frivolous. Coffee shouldn’t cause those types of burns.

LOL…if "actual" doctors have time to post on message boards we should all be worried.

If Lynch took over for Richter, I would watch Conan on a 24 hour loop.

That was in reference to his machine that makes potable water from human waste. He actually did demonstrate the machine, drinking the water.

People like you are the worst. Just stfu and go away with the childish teasing.
