I was just talking to my friend about this. Anamatronics and puppets in movies. Over the past 10 years or so everything is being moved over to CG because it’s cheaper and faster, which most of the time kills the feel of the movie.

I think you are misusing the term mature there. A more proper/ fitting word would be edgy. Things were done in the game for the only purpose of showing kids how far they could suitably and tastelessly push the envelope.
