It does take a lot of guts. But then the trolls will say “they’re doing it for money/attention, and this is proof!” Sigh. As a survivor of sexual abuse/rape myself, it amazes me the kinds of mental gymnastics people will go through to discredit victims.

Oddly enough I understand it the first time I glanced at it. When I look at it more closely it is a little muddled though.

it is positive thing in all these threads that everyone has no problem should she make money off this. I would have been so disappointed had I read a bunch of shit against her and would have had to go into a closet with a blanky until the apocalypse came.

Yeah, I’m still trying to wrap my brain around how “you’re making money off this horrible, life-wrecking thing that happened to you” is a criticism.

Domestic battery is a fucking joke. I mean, domestic battery isn’t itself a joke, duh, abuse isn’t funny, but what this “war machine” loser did was attempted murder, and if breaking it down into 32 separate counts is how the victim and her lawyers prefer then I wish them the best of luck on 32 convictions.

Yeah, I’m still trying to wrap my brain around how “you’re making money off this horrible, life-wrecking thing that happened to you” is a criticism.

Also, can you imagine her hospital, doctor, and therapy bills?

Fucking yup. If some maniac attempts to beat me to death, damn right I can tell my story for money if I so choose. Fuck this whining woman beater.

Okay, serious question that may be easily misconstrued, but whatever.

I don’t understand what the problem is with her profiting from this. She didn’t ask for it; she didn’t commit a crime. From what I understand, she’s a model and a porn actress and she was at least temporarily disfigured and couldn’t work in her chosen profession.

I’m not going to begrudge anyone who survived a brutal attack the right to make money from that. She’s profiting from telling her story? I’m cool with that.

I hope she does profit. Handsomely. Book deals, TV, whatever.

I don’t think ANYONE should feel comfortable with the idea of this engine of destruction (oh, sorry, “War Machine”) getting out of jail in 2-5. Not Christy Mack, not the prosecutors, not the American public, not anyone.

This is fair, but at the same time, if you call a place and ask “are you delivering right now” and they say “yes,” at that point it’s kind of on them.

They can’t tell the distinction between those two completely different situations because they’re blind to women’s agency. You don’t worry what an object thinks about its state of being because it is there for you to look at.

90 feet (30 yards) is like the distance between first base and the home plate. Children that age are often farther away from you than that in your own home.

No, they’re really not too young. I have a kid that age and I would easily trust him to be fine 30-90 feet away from me, in eyesight.

This can’t be said enough. When white moms do this shit*, it’s called “free-range parenting” and they get book deals out of it.

I have no idea how my son has made it to the ripe old age of 16 since there were times in his life when he wasn’t physically touching me or tethered to me with a leash. OMG I’m such a terrible mother.

What a crock of shit. She could likely see them at the table, had given them something to do, and probably pointed them out while interviewing.
