A strict clock may be unenforceable and probably should be. But as much as I generally hate umpires and that I recognize people like Angel Hernandez and Joe West exist - I'm all for giving umpires leeway to call balls and strikes if they think a hitter or pitcher is needlessly dawdling. That is after fair warning.
