I find that most speedrunners find joy in finding exploits or figuring out things they werent supposed to about a game, but the whole goal of speedrunning is for an accomplishment, not because the game is more enjoyable that way.

I don’t get this argument. If you were worried about spoilers from the start, and the trailers revealed too much, wouldn’t that be obvious fairly quickly? Wouldn’t you get 2-3 trailers in and think “ah I’m seeing too much” and just not watch the other ones that come out?

I won’t go that far, but I’ll take the safe bet that this term is being coined off of the backs of a few men who are, in comparison, a very very minuscule percentage of people vs all of the guys active on Twitter who aren’t starting huge, long-winded threads.
