My 86 year old mother, who has dementia, has fixated on Katie Ledecky. She’s called me three times to ask if I saw her on TV. ‘Did you see that young lady all alone in the pool?’

That was well-played.

I got weepy too. Her reaction was hopeful and then utterly joyous.

Ashley was absolutely right about Asif and Mudasir.

It’s a cliche, but that sense of being tiny in the face of infinity is something I will never forget.

I was in Nepal in the 1990s, up in the Annapurnas on a mostly cloudless night, which is pretty rare. It was really freaking cold on that glacier, but we bundled up and stood outside staring at the sky. The Milky Way was astounding. These photos remind me of that night. Thank you!

This is gorgeous. Shame most of Trump’s followers don't have the attention span to get through all of it.

What a completely awful design.

This is why interaction/interface design is so important. If systems don’t give users proper and immediate feedback about system state, it’s really easy for any of us to make a ‘stupid’ mistake.

It’s good to be on the other side, isn’t it? Diagnosis was the worst, just awful. I was paralyzed. But you do get through.

Holy shit, what a nightmare.

Hey! I have the same scars. I got the silicone gel implants and they are quite realistic. Except when I lie on my back, because odd things happen.

I had to think for a second...

I saw it within a minute... but we use visual stimuli in our lab all the time, so my brain is a bit attuned to these things.

Mr. Salo, for the sake of experimental validity and control, you really should pilot that plane yourself.

Isn’t he running against Gary Johnson on the Libertarian ticket?

You really got yourself worked up about this.

That Madrid tire fire comes to mind.

Twenty five acres of tires. How many acres burned?

THIS. A million times, this.
