Years ago, husband worked for Wal Mart. Salaried employees were expected to work 52 hour weeks, minimum. He lasted 18 months, then quit when they arbitrarily transferred him to another city with a couple weeks’ notice. He could quit because he was in his twenties and single. But I'm sure a lot of other people ared

Oh, I know. I didn’t mean to sound like I was blaming the victims. This is why labor movement was so important. Unions can be a huge pain in the ass now, but everyone should keep in mind that organized labor came into being because some companies (not all) treat their employees like shit.

I’ve loved my forties. My husband is loving being fifty. Accepting middle age is such a freeing experience. I worry less about my appearance, I’m better about getting work things done early so I can do the activities I love, like running and working on our small acreage and playing with our dogs and watching birds.

And the only people who can put an end to the culture of pointless death marches are the employees. The companies they’re working for have no incentive to change the status quo.

This DRESS! I watched this episode twice just for this dress. Spectacular.

Whoa. That's just... Wow.

That man loves his family.

Maybe she's more confident now.

Where's your bar?

I don't always follow it, but I try.

I worked restaurant, and here’s what I was taught: if someone makes a reasonable request about taking out an ingredient, it’s not your job to make life difficult. Just listen. Accommodate the request if you can, or explain why you can’t. Offer an alternative. Try to be gracious.

Yeah, but they were doing this for decades.

I can say this as a New Mexican: our local news isn’t exactly known for scientific rigor or journalistic excellence. Shower and wash your beard, you’ll be fine.

Yes to all of the above.

‘Lego people.’ I love that!!

Read about that and wondered how they pulled that off. How would the body not desiccate after a couple years? I figured they had to have more than one, which is also terrible.

Even better, ESPN decides not to cover the fight, it’s cancelled, and Mayweather doesn’t make a goddamned dime. But that won’t happen.

People will make a ton of money on this violent SOB. It’s just gross. And how is he allowed to see his kids at all? Holy crapola.

Those are some happy hippos.

I am dying laughing over here!
