Häagen-Dazs is much better, you can actually taste ice-cream, where Ben & Jerry is typically (americuh!) over the top with half of it being not-ice-cream, but huge blocks of chocolate or cookie dough and all sorts of crap . It all just gets in the way of the good stuff.
